L-theanine takes the jittery edge off the caffeine buzz and makes it a more chill, relaxed energy. As for taste, I actually like coffee but find I tend to chug it right down while with tea I enjoy it more slowly, which ends up being a more rewarding experience.
Green tea has a compound that counteracts the jittery/anxious effect of caffeine, it might be l-theanine but I'm not sure that's correct.

Also while the caffeine content for a serving of coffee is generally agreed to be about 200mg, the actual content in a coffee from Starbucks or McDonald's is around 250mg for a small, with large coffees not uncommonly pushing a fucking gram of caffeine. Comparatively, a green tea typically has less than 100mg, about as much as a coca cola. Setting aside the fact that consuming a fucking gram of caffeine in a sitting is a bad idea as an isolated incident, caffeine tolerance, dependence and withdrawal are real, and the more you consume, the more of a physiological debt you're incurring that you'll have to match the next day just to maintain executive function, and eventually have to withdraw from.

I drink coffee normally, I drink tea when I'm sick and need the hot liquid to clear out my sinuses, especially late at night.

Coffee makes me nervous and even tea does, but they both taste great. I'd give the edge to tea as it's lighter and more refreshing.

I just prefer flavored water/carbonated water usually.
