why is it than every open source software does not matter if its custom roms or sound recording software it all looks like garbage how can people put up with it?

they did not name it sneedacity therefore unusableNo one sane uses audacity anymore, but it’s not horrible. Tenacity is a more stable version, but id recommend anything else really.
proving my pointGraphene and Calyx are both mobile OS and really stock android is pretty fuckin shit so the bar is low already.
fairVLC, just use MPV
chrome looks like dogshit too but tbf the open source brave looks good so not as big a dunk as i thoughtFirefox looks pretty close to Chrome, which looks like a run of the mill browser. The fact you use example makes me question if you’ve ever used Firefox in the last 5 years.
trueGnome was always ugly.
true but you wanted examplesLemmy.. why not use Pleroma honestly at this point
I mean yeah, but there is a fork lolthey did not name it sneedacity therefore unusable
Yeah mobile hasn’t been a good run for anyone frankly. iOS is looking worse lately due to this weird move towards larger rounded edges.proving my point
Yeah, brave looks pretty ok, but I just hate chromium so damn much I can’t get over it. Orion is the best mobile browser and it’s WebKit. LibreWolf (a fork of firefox) with a theme is the bomb for desktop usagebrave looks good so not as big a dunk as i thought
That’s fair. I don’t know why people use fuckin mastadon, lemmy, or whatever they are rolling in recent days.true but you wanted examples
was not aware basedI mean yeah, but there is a fork lol
so true mobile ruined UI design old IOS was very nice UI wise now it all sucksYeah mobile hasn’t been a good run for anyone frankly. iOS is looking worse lately due to this weird move towards larger rounded edges.
Mobile is shite all around.
i wish we had better but most sites work on chromium vs i run into issues with sites not working on firefoxYeah, brave looks pretty ok, but I just hate chromium so damn much I can’t get over it. I stubbled upon that repo because I randomly decided to google different forks and ended up thinking sneedacity was funny. I was rather pleased when I found it.was not aware based

i think your right i basically only use the browser and file manager i might just do thatI stubbled upon that repo because I randomly decided to google different forks and ended up thinking sneedacity was funny. I was rather pleased when I found it.
I just keep both installed “just in case” a website doesn’t work, but if it really doesn’t for whatever reason, I usually just don’t worry about it.
I would suggest just stripping everything, getting a laptop with a TWM like i3wm with dMenu and loading your browser of choice, and just live in a terminal window.
(Linux only obviously)
GUIs are bulky and even if you can find good/decent looking CS and OS software if you look why bother? TUI is hard to fuck up and with the right colors and term settings, you can make almost any look beautiful (btop is gorgeous, neovim/doom-emacs is based, bmon is fun, and steam-tui for games, [could insert many many more]) and when you can’t, the terminal is always there in its simple, inviting prompt just blinking away
THROW OFF THE CHAINS OF EYERAPE AND EMBRACE THE FOREVER BLACK BOX… only then true happiness can be achieved
No, go fuck yourself, Im staying with the cone.VLC, just use MPV
It takes a little getting used to, and the internet is your friend in finding whatever flavor of workflow you are looking for.i think your right i basically only use the browser and file manager i might just do that
my workflow is i swipe between tabs on my touchpad not sure if thats good for window managersIt takes a little getting used to, and the internet is your friend in finding whatever flavor of workflow you are looking for.
Though if it's just files and browser, it would almost be a sin not to declutter. It's good for the mind and body i've found (not to be too faggy about it, but our HID experience does play a big part in our mentals)
I know there are people who have successfully enabled multi-touch in i3wm, but that would be something not straight out of the box.my workflow is i swipe between tabs on my touchpad not sure if thats good for window managers
