Just a few years ago we started producing more petroleum than we used and it was decided that we should lift the 1970's petroleum crisis ban on selling domestic petroleum on the world market. After that some jackass decided to shut down domestic petroleum production. Blame Trump and Biden both.

I dunno, I'm more irritated by the fact that domestic petroleum production was shut down-- under what circumstance could you ever justify that?
