I guess they can be pretty cool and relaxing, but I don't see why people are constantly talking about them.

I respectfully disagree. Although it does get easier after you get everything dialed in.
>nitrogen cycle (no fish, with fish, dark start, etc)
>ammonia levels
>ph levels
>nitrite levels
>nitrate levels
>water changes
>filter cleaning
>water temperature
>diatoms
>quarantine tanks for new or diseased fish
>sups for water/fish/plants
>fucking pond snails

Yeah it seems like a goddamn job maintaining one, I would go the terrarium route if I were that kind of guy because at least you can take reptiles out and pet them.
