I've never drank, smoked a cig, smoked pot, taken an edible, or did any sort of hard drugs. I have no interest in doing so. Why is this increasingly being seen as a negative quality in today's world?

i don't think there's anything wrong in moderation, I like weed. i enjoy the ability to shut my brain off, but I only take it every Friday.

other people I know drink and get high almost every single day, these same people can't hold down a job and are disasters of people.

so if you don't want to drink or do anything, that's perfectly fine, but there's nothing inherently wrong with doing it.

People subversibly define life as engaging in addictive substances, commiting life-endagering acts, and procreating. When they encounter someone who enjoys life without those things, it makes them feel inferior or incompetent. It angers them that you do not stoop to their level, and will go so far as to use double speak and state your enjoyment of hobbies and solitude as cowardice.

For the record, I think trying them is fine. Having a social drink to get tipsy is fine. They shouldn't define you, and you should be able to find enjoyment without them. I honestly don't care about any of those things either, so this is just my interpretation from observing people's reactions.

In the 1968 mouse "utopia" experiments by John Calhoun, there were multiple demographics of mice. One demographic during the later stages was that of "the beautiful ones", that is, mice which did not engage with the trivialities of the then-violent mouse society. These mice curiously had healthy well-groomed fur and lived comfortably. That's essentially your societal niche.

Because in general if someone's never drank before, for example, it's not a sign they have a great deal of self control, it's a sign they're a socially alienated sperg.

Guys like CWC spent most of his life never having drank, smoked, etc. and what kind of person was he? The reason he didn't do those things wasn't because he was a stand up guy, it was because he was a shut in and a weirdo with helicopter parents.

And you've never used addictive substances, but you're on an internet forum, with some meme thing as your username, so obviously you have used something addictive, the internet. Do you eat junk food? Because obesity is more common at this point than most forms of actual substance addiction. Those are in some ways less respectable, because they're solitary activities.

Not consuming psychoactive substances is broadly a good idea, but it's also not something a person should expect asspats over either.

Good for you, OP. Maybe it’s the same way people get all defensive if they find out someone’s a vegetarian. I keep that info to myself and I still get questioned if I don’t drink socially or turn down meat. Tell them to mind their own business if they’re rude enough to bring it up.

People who don't engage with substances most people can handle without a problem are gonna seem weird, especially when they're spergs that can't hang or recovering alcoholics that are always goin on and on about it.

Obviously because people don't like when you highlight their own poor behavior. Next time someone asks "why" if you refuse, try being honest and telling them what you think instead of copping out with "its just not for me bro" and it will 100% cause them to become defensive and annoyed.

I need weed for my depression and video games for my self care ,and booze for my social anxiety, and my vape for my temper, and my fidget spinner for my adhd, and antidepressants because of my chemical imbalance, and CBD for my panic attacks, and molly for my friends, and mushroom microdosing for work, and a bullet in my brain because I almost realized that all of my problems still exist under this blanket of substance abuse.

Abstaining from substance abuse is a virtue though I dont see a issue in using some substances responsibly in a social situation like alcohol. It's just that so much of the population drinks / smokes cigarettes (or even weed now) that it's a societal norm and they would probably get insecure about someone priding themselves on their abstinence.

As someone who smokes weed pretty often, I have a lot of respect for people who abstain from recreational substances in general. It's a sign of a strong will and restraint which most people do not have. Don't listen to the faggots who tell you otherwise, they only do that because they're bitter and sad about their own crappy life choices and they hate to see people thriving without a vice to cope.

If you've never been tested, how can you say what you'd actually do? If you never drank alcohol, you can never say you won't be an alcoholic. You are just someone who has never pushed their limits.
