Why does the Goosebumps Theme instantly make everything funny

its not really a funny song, and despite a few chuckles at the expense of the writing team and dated low budgetness of the whole affair, goosebumps is not a comedy show. The song doesn't make the intro any funnier than it already is. So why then does the song placed where it does not belong instantly make something 100% more hilarious?

The primary "dum dum dum dum dum" is a very over-the-top musical motif that makes the whole thing seem cartoonish. Also "viewer beware you're in for a scare" is a funny line.

Unrelated aside: A little while ago I saw The Night Of The Living Dummy again, when I was a kid Slappy terrified me but now I think he's great. We need more evil ventriloquist dummies with New York accents to terrorize and verbally roast suburban families.

He told the one kid he's such a boogerbrain that when he tries to grow an eggplant, he buries a chicken. Right on Slappy.

Slappy is kino I like part 3 where he chases the kids around so they clearly go another kid/midget to wear a costume and run around so Slappy is just spontaneously taller

I remember really liking Goosebumps in grade school, I thought I was so edgy reading “horror” books like that……

I just rewatched the intro to the show, and all I have to say is……

Because, though this may be circular reasoning (why is anything funny?), the song just sounds really goofy and cartoonish and it makes associations to goofy, cartoonish subject matter.
