Julia has had several previous bad relationships, one of which actually involved a physical assault, and it's been implied that she may have been sexually assaulted at one point. What actually happened however, is extremely unclear as we're relying on second or even third hand information, but suffice to say, Julie's exes have left quite an impression on her mentally. The fact she seems to have a fixation on younger, or even extremely underage, males may possibly be because she sees them as a safe option. A young boy can't push her around or physically abuse her compared to a man in her age group. Even if it is a trauma thing, the fact Julia gets off to anime CP is still unacceptable and realistically speaking if she wants a happy normal life she'd get the fuck off the internet and seek extensive therapy. However, it's also extremely clear both by her cosplaying hobby and comments she has made shown in the conversation I just shared, that she loves attention and she especially loves attention from those who she perceives as playing hard to get. Arguably as a result of this, Julia is her own worst enemy and she's impeding any progress she could make on healing from her trauma by putting herself in a position where she has access to both attention and underage boys. While we can argue that she wouldn't go full on rapist as she refuses to have sex unless she's actually trying for a baby, her behaviour regarding Ryan and wanting to take his virginity even after their relationship was over and he had been abusive to her shows that she could and she would if she wanted to. It's not impossible that if the opportunity presented itself, she would offend, and would attempt to get a baby out of it.
Ethan was exactly what she wanted. A underage and then later young acting boy with hardcore Peter-Pan Syndrome who gave her all the attention she wanted, and he had somebody, finally that would listen to his problems and go as far as to dote on him and send him cosplay. Because mommy wouldn't.
Julia would though. Julia was always there. Julia loved the attention. Ethan loved how an older woman would fawn on him and call him cute when he wore the clothes she was into and listened to him cry about how everyone irl was mean to him.
