Why do school zones have lower speed limits?

Shouldn't they have higher speed limits? So you spend less time in their vicinity? The less time traffic spends in a school zone, the less time they have to potentially run over kids.

We should just give all road users an F1 car and remove speed limits entirely so people spend less time in any one place and thus reduce accidents
