People used to use human shit as manure, and still do in some places in the world. It was called night soil.

I believe it's no longer used because human shit carries parasites and diseases.

Most people who buy manure from a retail store don't know anyone they can ask for manure. People who own livestock sometimes also farm and will use their own manure or work out an agreement with someone or some company to sell or just give their manure away, that manure then usually gets liquified and sprayed, sometimes even superheated so it's "clean". Manure is big business mayne.
