Late at night my cat will fixate on something and follow it with her eyes despite nothing being there, then she'll look around confused like it disappeared.

I also started watching some gay show about some bitch who can see spooky ass ghosts but she can't acknowledge she sees them or she'll be possessed or some shit and then my cat pulls the late night staring shit on me

I'm a grown ass man who took my cat with me to get water from the fridge because I was too much of a pussy to go alone why am I like this

More importantly are there any cat whisperers here who can answer why my cat does this

They have excellent dark vision, and they track around bugs, interesting large pieces of dust, mice, etc. They also take the time to play, since there aren't relative giants stomping around all over the place.

I'll ask the vet about it when I'm there soon thanks for the tip

I'm a loser with severe social anxiety who uses a cat to fill the empty void of loneliness

Run your finger through the air around their head (make sure not to hit the whiskers) and see if they track it. Mine will follow to one direction, but not the other. I dunno your cat's details, but unless it's getting on in years it's probably fine.

I have had plenty of them with no vision problems that would stare into space too.

Why does "a grown ass man" own a cat?
"Own?" They're not so much possessions as they are roommates. Roommates who never kick in for rent or food and sometimes wake you up by sitting on your chest and beating you in the face until you get up and feed them. They're kind of assholes, to be honest.

But they're still better than silence.
