so i remember really liking KOTOR but i played it recently and it's super buggy and the controls are kind of ass and also it's pretty boring so then i tried fallen order and it's also pretty boring but the combat is more fun but there's pointless platforming now and it just stops all funhaving there is to be had with that game i guess i haven't tried force unleashed yet and i heard that one is fun but i feel like it is too edgy for me so i guess what i really want to know is how come the games are all dogshit there should be more shrek 2 games available for my enjoyment now that i think of it mostly because shrek 2 is a friendly ogre and friendly ogres are way cooler than the same bullshit fall and redemption story that we get every single fucking time

My favorite part of the whole series was when they went down to that planet and it was cold so the one russian guy heated up a rock with his phaser so they could keep their hands warm.
Boy, look here, i tell you what, to start off, i've never watched a starwars movie only played lego starwars for the game cube, my nephew is a little autistic, whenever he sees a starwars merchandise he gets very excited and starts running around, jumping and screaming, one time he screamed so loud that a couple blood vessels in my forehead popped and i had to teach him a lesson in how to keep his voice down. Now, if the starwars can inspire such fanatic devotion from a small group of little autistic men, i can tell you what, ive lived 33 years every day of my life, ive been around and seen it all, every political movement, and not even national socialism gives the type of autistic hyper active cerebral activity among young men, so if you believe in anything, you must at least acknowledge that at least some of the star warses dont suck

The first Force Unleashed is good. It was edgy for its time but I replayed it not too long ago and imo there are moments but it isn't that edgy by today's standards. Regardless the gameplay is fun, which is what really matters. But unless you really end up liking the first game, don't bother with Force Unleashed II. I personally thought it was okay but lots of people think it's way more ridiculous than the first game and kind of boring and I can understand why.

Mr. Miyagi mentioned the Jedi Knight games and he's right about them. Especially Jedi Academy.

My favorite Star Wars game is probably the video game adaptation of Revenge of the Sith because the lightsaber combat is fucking awesome. It's only on the PS2/XBox generation of consoles (or downloadable on PS3 now that I look it up) but if you have a buddy available play versus with them. The duels are fun as hell.

Dark Forces (the predecessor to the more popular Jedi Knight games) is an absolute bop if you like boomer shooters. there's no fall/redemption story here, the main character is more of a Han Solo independent mercenary type, and it keeps the narrative lean. it also predates the prequel trilogy so it's a spinoff of the original trilogy specifically. if you play it on DOSBOX, make sure you set up GRAVIS Ultrasound as the soundtrack sounds really good on GUS and absolutely horrendous on the default Sound Blaster MIDI. there's also a source port but I haven't tried it. Jedi Knight 1-3 are also easy recommendations, particularly 2. Republic Commando is another forgotten classic; it's a squad FPS where you play as a special forces type unit in the prequel trilogy. outside of the typical action/adventure genres, Galactic Battlegrounds kicks ass if you like Age of Empires 2, while its successor Empire at War kicks even more ass with more of a Command & Conquer 3 type vibe. the pod racing game (Star Wars Episode I Racer) is awesome if you like old school arcadey racers, but the Steam port sucks asshole; play it on an N64 emulator. if you can stick with it long enough, Knights of the Old Republic II with the Restored Content Mod is extremely worth it. it still has the same awful controls/mechanics/graphics of the first game, but a much better story and campaign.

but yeah, the Star Wars franchise died over a decade ago. now that Disney owns it, they're only licensing it out to dog shit publishers like EA and Ubisoft. the new Jedi games are not awful at least but they're mid IMO. I think it's safe to say that the age of good Star Wars games is over.

The original Rouge Squadron was great. There was some other pretty awesome one back in the 1990s for PC that was my jam but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. called Xwing vs. Tie Fighter.

i forgot about jedi kyle's series of games, might have to reinstall those maybe

also forgot about the lego star warses, but i think those are mostly fun cause the lego games are just fun in general

the x-wing series (including TIE Fighter spin-off, later combined into that thing you said) is also fun but the joystick controls don't map well to modern gamepads and i don't feel like digging my flightstick out of the closet

I fucking loved the Shrek 2 game.

Possibly one of the best PC games of the 2000s.

My favorite part of the whole series was when they went down to that planet and it was cold so the one russian guy heated up a rock with his phaser so they could keep their hands warm.
i liked that part too. i also relly liked when han solo smuggled a bunch of tribbles onto a star destroyer and told luke that it "was no tribble at all" just such classic star wars moments like those is what makes me love the series.

Honestly the amount of good star wars games is staggering shame most of the modern console ports are awful it would be nice if dark forces got ported to current gen consoles and was made by nightdive instead of aspyr media that and rogue squadron 2.
