Why can't we just launch trash at the sun?

Ralph is an excellent example. He went gold digging and huffed it really good.
 
Because Vectorman will become real. Spoiler for Vectorman sperging.

in the future, humans send orbots to the sun from Earth to dump our trash. Raster, an orbot in some nuclear plant, gets exposed to nuclear waste and goes berserk, ordering his fellow orbots to kill all humans. Vectorman, unaffected because he was coming from a trip to the sun, sets forth on a quest to destroy Raster, now known as Warhead.
 
Serious answer-expense and logistics. Every rocket launched is one we aren't getting back.

You'd need to produce rockets like cars, and have cheap fuel to load all the earth's trash into them and then point them at the sun.
