Then they want the person imprisoned or worse, so they don't even really enjoy the criticism. They just create more stress for themselves by blowing up a boogieman in their head. The whole recruitment process of pinkos is befriending guys that are weird. rejects of society with little to no moral values.

So what you do instead is to grab someone else's values and paint them as evil. The ideology is highly versatile, there are no real values and anything can be painted as an oppressor with enough lies. Just keep repeating the lies, keep repeating that they are genoiciding you.
Your followers will feel pressured to murder the people you don't like. People with weak self esteem and no purpouse in life can be brainwashed and molded into your personal tools. Just keep up the facade of a friendly relationship with them.
