Confusing the feeling of never fitting in and feeling uncomfortable all the time, with ''having a girl brain''. Which is based on superficial observations of sexy or authoritative women, forming a very skewed image of what a real women's experience is. Sometimes caused by predators ''cracking their egg'', i.e. making them realize they are trans.

I don't think programming attracts troons specifically. I think wanting to be a programmer and being a troon are just both possible side effects of being on a computer 20 hours a day, so there's a lot of overlap.

autism and porn. i'd suspect that programmers probably spend more time gooning online and the more depraved the content the more likely you are to just get into retarded sissy porn and then transition. i know that sounds like a joke but i genuinely know programmers irl (MULTIPLE ones) that went this route. they also seem weirdly into stimulants - something about the autism + stimulants combination in particular lends itself to an unstable sense of identity that, when combined with unbridled horniness in the male mind, manifests as a desire to get degraded and butt fucked (and if you read Andrea Long Chu's 'Females' you'll realize that for AGPs being degraded and butt fucked is effectively the whole point of LARPing as a woman).

the autism figures in largely because they have difficulty adhering to male gender norms and standards of attractiveness (they're often nebbish, skinnyfat, have IBS, have a high or soft cadence etc.) so they think they might stand a better chance socially as a girl.

i also think the hyper-masculinized autistic brain lends itself to both the systematized style of thinking that's required for programming and the kind of thinking that leads one to think that if they don't like sports or bro-culture they just *must* be a woman and can't simply be a guy who doesn't like sports or bro-culture. it's (ironically, given the whole "everything is a spectrum" thing) a proclivity for black-and-white autistic thinking.

Here is when they acknowledge the existence of the rare girl programmers (or Warhammer figurines collectors, cyberpunk enjoyers, military enthusiasts, weeaboos) even tho that's a quite different kind of girl from the ones they want to look like.
Since they are unfamiliar with a real female experience, they don't know these keep hearing they have 'male brain'.

From what I've seen. Most Troons think they are intellectually superior so they enter these fields in order to prove it. Most Troons I know who go into programming are actual dogshit at it or have nothing under their belt to really show for their "job". We have a few of these types in my cybersecurity classes and out of the 6 we had, only 2 remain because they realized they are dumber than the majority in the room.

Nerds who followed what they were told was the most future-oriented career path also do other things they're told in similar terms to do. They're a specific type of social prey.

Trooning out is a "scifi trope" (until you smell it).
