Think about it.

Janice Broberg's parents let her get get kidnapped three times and were both tricked into a sexual relationship with Janny's abuser. Janny's abuser was able to trick her into a relationship under the guise that she was 1/2 alien.

They believe in complete forgiveness as long as you repent, and they probably won't turn you in for criminal activity.

They condone the actions of Ruby Franke and other people like her

They pray to a stupid white salamander and thought Joseph Smith was a genius

They go door to door and ask you to believe in their stupid salamander

Why are they the dumbest of white people? They remind me of those stupid Happy Science Japanese cult that probably diddles kids too.

If you pointed a gun at my head and forced me to pick between Mormonism and Scientology to convert to, I would go with Scientology because it looks less like an obvious con than Mormonism does.

Religion acts as a moral foundation for many people. It defines what they think is good and evil, guides their own behaviour and what behaviour they think is acceptable for others. This is a bit of a sad realisation because without religion you'd have a lot of amoral people because it just doesn't seem that some people can make up their own minds on what what is right and wrong. It's why despite being an atheist myself I cannot deny that religion plays an important role in society.

But if you're religion has some weird practices then yeah you'll get practitioners of that religion doing weird stuff.
