You ever wonder why bananas are yellow, and while you're at it they're not called "Yellows"? Same could apply for apples not being called reds or pears not being called "Greens". But orange definitely deserves to have a name after it right?

Modern fruits are candies.

Because of overselection they lost most nutrients because those selected are those that grow very fast (no time to accrue micronutrients) and because people prefer sweeter things, the producers have been selecting for sweeter fruits for a very long time, thus creating the modern fruit, which has almost nothing in common with what the original natural fruits were, most of which don't even exist anymore.
You're not "Eating healthy" when you eat bananas and apples. You're eating candies.
 
Completely disregarding red bananas.. have you no shame?

A better question is why are so many bananas grown in Norway and Iceland. What the hell are they doing up there?
