Goku's power doesn't rely on an outside factor like the Sun and he has Instantaneous Transmission. The best version of Superman (Cosmic Armor) beats the best version of Goku but this post I found sums it up nicely: "I don't actually consider Cosmic armor superman as superman. He is ultraman and supermans MINDS (not their bodies) fused into a higher dimension robot that can to a degree alter characters story and outcome." At the end of the day it's obviously all in the writing but Goku beats most versions of Superman.
 
Is there a character that could even possibly EVEN TOUCH Madara Uchiha? Let alone defeat him. And I'm not talking about Edo Tensei Uchiha Madara. I'm not talking about Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara either. Hell, I'm not even talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan doujutsus (with the rikodou abilities and being capable of both Amateratsu and Tsukuyomi genjutsu), equipped with his Gunbai, a perfect Susano'o, control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju's DNA implanted in him so he has mokuton kekkei genkai and can perform yin yang release ninjutsu while being an expert in kenjutsu and taijutsu. i'm going to post this because i've actually talked about this with friends. i don't really care to seriously debate a dumb topic like this, but I am curious to see if there's anyone who has a response.

for the purposes of my argument I'm ignoring things like Kryptonite. if you think Goku would just use Kryptonite, then yeah, Goku could beat Superman, gg ez.

but in regard to feats of strength and speed, Superman wins. like by a lot. like by a fucking lot. There are characters Goku can't beat, like currently Black Form Frieza (I think?) Beerus, and Jiren. He also couldn't beat fused Zamasu.


For comparison Superman almost always wins and his feats are absurd. While Goku is strong, Superman has held up infinity. Superman has lifted reality for 24 hours. This is an unquantifiable feat. His strength is so great I believe All-Star Superman, which granted, is an outlier, could move 4 moons with one hand. Superman knocked out the World Forger, a being who physically creates planets to populate reality. Superboy-Prime, who presumably has similar strength to Superman, punched reality itself so hard it fractured. Goku doesn't have any feat that comes close to these.

Superman's speed is also next level. He can vibrate through solid objects and he has crossed galaxies in seconds. While it's true Goku can teleport, he, to my knowledge, needs to put his fingers to his forehead and lock onto an energy signature to do so, doesn't he? Superman has no such issues.

for context, I've seen every episode of DBZ, most episodes of Super, and I've read a ton of Superman shit. I'm not up to date on the current Goku manga shit, so if anyone has anything like "Goku punched a universe and destroyed it" type shit, I'd love to hear it.

When Goku fought Beerus in Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form the shockwaves from their punches were threatening to destroy the universe.

I’m team Superman here, but Goku at least got close to that level.

yeah but the problem we run into is how much of that was Beerus and how much of it was Goku? that is a closer feat tho.

I cant think of anytime Superman threatened to destroy the actual physical universe.

And that was before he mastered SSG, plus way before all of his other DBS fights and training, also SSG is a relatively weak form now. Goku is stronger than Superman, and more consistent in his feats, plus most of them are more quantifiable rather than abstract unlike Superman's.
