alt right types would not target church attending white people so probably not those.
antifa types don't act alone and don't shoot real guns, so probably not those either.

my prediction: some combination of incel and schizo. possible atheism mixed in too, but the primary motivators are his incel/loser status and mental instability.

Seemingly every time they hit a church, some old guy fucks them up before they can commit more murders. I wonder why.

Regardless, this is a horrifying event as always, and I hope & pray that the families of the victims find peace.

Shooter confirmed to be either an Islamic radical or a Black Hebrew Israelite.

If the shooter was white, they'd be all over it and releasing the shooter's name before the body got cold. Although if the shooter is white but also left-wing, I could see them memory-holing the whole thing like they did with Castle Rock.

probably because its really easy to recognize an outsider in a place that you frequent. churches tend to be tight knit communities

They are going for the high score. Their purpose isn't to come off as a badass but to scare people and make them fear them. They hit society where it is weak not where it is strong. Though a church in Texas is probably more of the latter than the former.

Also, I vote Kang.
 
Church of Christ. Put some money down on the shooter and/or their parents being formerly of the congregation.

What I find most disturbing about horrific events like this is people will celebrate if the shooter is X, Y or Z if it means pushing an agenda.

Jesus fucking Christ, somebody tried to shoot Innocents and all they're worried about is pushing an agenda. It's borderline sadistic.

Agreed, and I honestly think if the media didn't sensationalize mass shootings and use them to push agendas, I think we'd see a lot less mass shootings because there would be a lot less copycats.

Part of why we see more mass shootings in the years since Columbine is because the media has attached a sort of aura of mystique around many shooters, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in particular, painting them as vengeful outcasts who wanted payback instead of the true image of a narcissistic psychopath and his suicidal lackey.

They've only recently caught onto hyping up the identity of the shooters being what inspires copycats, but now they use that to push agendas. If the shooter is a white male or has right-wing beliefs, they will endlessly hype that up all over the media, while if the shooter is a minority or has certain left-wing beliefs, they'll memory hole the entire thing as much as possible.

Dayton was a weird example. When it turned out the shooter was left-wing and was an Antifa supporter (if not an actual member of a local Antifa group), all sorts of Antifa groups and left-wing media outlets tried to paint him as this right-wing incel and cited his fondness for metal and anime as evidence, which didn't hold up to scrutiny once it got out that he got laid a lot because he was in a band.

Once it was determined that Connor Betts was an ordinary spree killer more in line with a disgruntled postal worker than an agenda-driven killer or attention-seeker, they dropped a lot of the rhetoric and deflection.
