When did the word filter for retard get removed?

A few years ago when you typed in the word retard it would correct to "exceptional individual", which caused users to type strings like re.tard to get around it. I'm posting in QA because I don't think this change is significant enough to be in General Discussion. Why was there ever an un-toggleable word filter on this site to begin with? That's your attempt at humor?

I do remember that back in 2018, but I forget the exact date that it got removed. When I was reading on the Chris Chan motherfucker arc and the Isabelle Janke thread in 2021, it was used there however.

It couldn't have been later than 2022 I don't think.
The filters may have been partially to be quirky, but I know at some point people were misusing the word "ween" and josh got peeved enough about it that it got re-filtered for a little while.

Also if you want to avoid word filters you type the word and put a blank inline spoiler in the middle of it. Tricks of the trade like that help separate the kiwi pros from the kiwi noobs.
