I've listened through their entire catalogue and I enjoyed at least one song from each album. Although it feels like after Jordy left there's just been something missing that I can't really explain. The new guys they've brought on have been great but still something is missing,

Must have been after "Iowa". Used to be huge into them back in '99, "Iowa" sounded good but wasn't quite the same (for me), and lost track of them after the following album.

This is the Slipknot I grew up with, there was nothing like 'em at the time. It was amazing.

I am old enough to remember downloading this same video off of Kazaa on dial-up internet.

Also, they made it super easy for me to fall into the Death Metal rabbithole. Back then I had never heard blast beats before, they introduced me to a whole new subgenre, then slowly grew out of them.

The first 3 albums were different enough that I feel like you could argue it happened after each subsequent release. If it wasn't for their technical achievement of turning the keg into a percussion instrument, you might not even be able to say they have a specific sound.
