What's the typical ancient doctor?

Ancient doctors are hard to come by these days. Many are forced into retirement, and a number of them have mandatory retirement ages written into their contracts. It's a huge loss for the medical community IMO. I used to know docs in their 80s who had invaluable knowledge built up over a lifetime of treating patients.
