Hot-take, but I think his conspicuous gut might be more of a result of horrible posture than fat. If you look at how the back of his blazer hangs, you can tell the small of his back is bending inwards and pushing his abdomen out. Also, his shoulders and neck are pushed forward which tells me he has what is called a "sway back posture":

This is very common and arises from a largely sedentary lifestyle. Rudy has a "job" where he sits all the time so he's a prime candidate for developing a sway back. Obesity is often co-morbid with developing a sway back posture, so the "lol fat" posters may still be correct.

Is there a general thread for right-leaning youtube wannabe historians and sociologists? We really should have one. What should we call them? the anti-breadtube?

Rudyard is easily the most credible one because at least he puts research towards his videos, even if he has lots of bad pisstakes. Some of these video essayers churn out /pol/-tier unhinged crap with no sources and still get 100k+ views. On top of my mind there's Pax Tube and Leather Apron Club

I still watch his videos, but the egotism has really started reading off the charts over the last year or so. He still has interesting things to say I guess, but the way he talks smacks of false humility. He tattles on himself when he implies his content is worthy of a "Tao of Rudyard", as if his content isn't a regurgitation of the work of better men with a zoomerdoomer twist.

I used to watch his videos often but it feels like at some point before this thread was made he started spending way too much time on Twitter and that started seeping into his videos
