so real talk

what DOES happen.

He will think he can look after himself and believes that he will be capable to be an adult. Then with the increase of his welfare, he will find it an excuse to buy more clunk but the clunk will be used to help fill the hole of his parents that cared for him; because of their pampering, turned him into the man child he is today. He will make a Lego model of his parents and use it to allow him receive the hugs that we wants to make him feel special and loved yet the only time those words are legitimately said to him were from a talking bear that he gave birth too. He will notice the bills and try to take manners in his own hands; he will ask others to live with him to help him in is issue of money that he spent all on stuff that he will never use. With the isolation that he will endure for the time being; only two sides will show. One side will allow him to view on his life and change so that he will be able to live normally and become a respectable human being despite of his past that has been broadcasted to thousands. Or the other side will show him become mentally insane and will have to resort him in being taken care of within a retirement home before he goes off and kills someone. He has run someone over and peppersprayed the other; he is capable of hurting someone again and you all know it.

In the end; the cards are in Chris's hands and if he plays it right, he can live happy

Or live in madness

Chris has been going to court alone, out on the weekends, and from the sound of it has gotten more sociable...when did Barb die in her sleep?
Fun as it is to think about how much better Chris would be without Barb, it's important to remember something: They can't leave the pets alone in the house or they'll destroy everything.

The question of whether Chris is better off without Barb is probably different to whether Chris would have been better off growing up without her.
Most Kiwis would agree that Chris would have turned out better had he been raised by any of the other 90% of women in the USA than Barb, or even had he been brought up by Bob alone.
But now that he has her? I think it will go badly when she goes. I don't know the details of the "who is more dependent on who" argument. But I would reason that Chris does some things for Barb that only someone in Chris's fighting-fit physical condition can do and Barb does some things for Chris only a non-autistic person can do, maybe Marvin or some other seasoned Kiwi can help fill in the gaps.

I don't think Chris can handle anything like bills or managing a property. An eBay account is about his limi-... wait, shit.

Oh yeah, no, Chris can easily handle bills. Managing a property? Maybe not, but he could get an apartment and would do fine.

Chris would function virtually identically without Barb. Barb just reduces his ability to plan for the future. She arbitrarily takes money from Chris, spends it on dumb bullshit. She also has a lot more debt than Chris.

Chris understands obligations. Barb reduces his ability to plan for their obligations.

Brother, does Chris plan to get an apartment or does he plan to stay at Branchland Ct? I can't imagine him paying property tax and maintaining his home

Heh, Barb doesn't maintain the home.

Also, yeah, property tax is something I considered. I have no clue how that works, because I've never been a homeowner. So, I would say it depends on how much the county reminds him of it.

If they keep sending him bills, he'll pay them. Trivially. But if it's something like, where they expect you to take the initiative and pay it yourself, and then when you miss a few payments, they show up with the county sheriff to kick you out, then... yeah, he might be fucked.

I believe it, but at the same time its so unbelievable.

He has no friends, no real contact with family on a regular basis, no job, and he hits a social club one night a week. I see loneliness doing him in. I don't really think Barb plays a big role in when he will end it all, but I can't believe that he feels less lonely when he wakes up than the day before.

The emotional issue is definitely a big issue. How will Chris handle transitioning from his current life to a post-Barb life? (Like, dealing with Barb's death while simultaneously taking control of the situation.)

I believe that it's trivial for Chris to survive if he gets over that hump.

You're right, that's a big hump. Someone, just anyone, really, will need to be there for him. And that's what I'm nervous about. Will he have the right support for that transition? I'm not sure. I hope it happens while Rocky is still working at the church.

They usually give you about 2-3 years leeway. When I was younger I didn't pay attention to bills for shit. 3 years later I got a letter saying I needed to pay the whole balance in full in 90 days. His property tax is $596.07 and he still hasn't paid it. It's due July 12. He's been keeping up on it though! The house is still in Barb's name. Chris better get a quit claim on it or he will be in some hard times if any of Barb's family is inclined to do battle with Chris.

I mean, if Chris gets kicked out of the house, do they have any way to get money out of him past that?

I was under the impression that that wasn't possible.

When my Dad passed, he left me everything. I had sisters who were pissed about this. I had a will and a quit claim. It took about 2.5 years to close the estate and about $4,500 in lawyer fees. People become fucking vultures when someone dies. If Barb has family anything like her and Barb doesn't have a Will (Bob's Will discussing Chris wouldn't mean anything, at most, a mucky, messy probate fight) Chris is toast.

Yeah, But all Barb would leave is debt. Not positive value.

She also is the owner of the home though... Bob and Barb are listed as the owners, Chris is not an owner. If you go to this link http://treasurer.gcva.us/applications/trapps/PPIindex.htm then do a Real Estate Public Inquiry, search by their street name, you see 14 Branchland Ct. is still in Bob and Barb's name. If her secured debt is greater than what she has in the bank, they could repo 14 Branchland Ct.

All Barb has to leave to him is debt. And he isn't obligated in any way to pay that. Her will doesn't mean shit.
