Chris is an idiot and he's certainly autistic, but he's not low functioning. I think there's a real 50/50 chance her death might actually be better for him in the long run. For a lot of adults with some kind of arrested development, death of the bio-parents is often the first real wake up call to straighten up and some do almost shockingly well as getting torn out of their usual structures was actually something they needed. Then again, Chris mental illness has been allowed to fester unchecked and he almost seems like he's regressing, even though I don't have an idea how much of that just a willful act is, because he's often shown to actually know better than he does. Yeah, I'd say 50/50 on good outcome/bad outcome.

I'd say it will depend from how much debt they have and how much she'll maintain the house.

Chris is not good with money but she knows how to handle payments usually, but having to actually clean the horde may be too much for her, unless some friends/Trolls are willing to help.

I bet Barb's trash weights more than a doghouse!

Emotionally, I do think it would help Chris to not be in her (ever slimming from muscle wasting) shadow anymore.

In every other aspect, it’s a hat trick.
 
I hate to like armchair diagnose but Chris definitely seems to be exhibiting signs of schizophrenia or something similar. There's not really any way to get rid of that so the best hope would be anti-psychs and/or a psych ward. If it isn't schizophrenia or a mental illness, I'd say it's just his childish mind and he's playing pretend, but if that was the case he's taking it so far that that would be unrealistically optimistic.

I bet you he doesn't try on that shit around Barb. Also wait for something negative that meaningfully impacts his life to happen and see how quickly he drops the act.

At this point its extremely hard to tell...he does have a LOT of free time so he could be pretending but he most likeky isnt. We are literally seeing mental decay right in our front (hopefuly we taking note for future lolcows).

Im sure his belief in the merge makes him face any real problems with total apathy. Barb could not stop him from going tomgirl and she aint stopping magi-chan from sticking around. She is just waiting for the grim reaper to show her mercy at this point.

Honestly it's both a day I hope that both comes soon and never comes at all. I really feel like he's going to do something that finally lands him in prison or a mental institution where he fucking belongs. Jesus that dude is a mess but her death will probably push him over the edge. I hate to say it but I think he's going to hurt somebody when that day comes. His history of violence doesn't help the matter and his recent break from reality does point to him truly loosing his mind and possibly think that he needs to kill somebody to save sonichu or some shit
or eat her corpse to be close to her one last time

Honestly, thats some real wishful thinking because Chris's mentality believes in the merge and that "death" simply turns you into a sonichu in his own version of "heaven" (Cwcville). That is not to say he is religious, but he is so deep within his own make believe that he honest to god thinks that her death will simply "transition" her to Cwcvile. There is believing that someone is in a "better place" and then there is your make believe "happy place". Jesus Christ...

He may bark but he cant bite, especially if you show you are willing to accept his "challenges". I remember one time, Chris got angry with a big niggo at the game place and he sort of passively aggressively threaten him, only for the niggo to stand up as if like "you said what, cracker?", Chris chickened out and claimed that he was threatening his "monsters". I dont need to say that chris can get SO AFRAID that he will literally SHIT himself (like when he shit the bed when thinking Clyde was going to kill him and, I "shit" you not, tried to fool him by putting a stuffed animal under his bed and putting sunglasses on it while he hid on the couch...you cant make this "shit" up :lol: ). I think you're basically right, but I think the 50% chance of "better" is pretty broad and could entail a lot of outcomes. A large portion of that 50% would be in the vicinity of "things basically remain the same, except Barb isn't around to contribute additional stress to Chris's manbaby existence."

This part seems extremely optimistic to me.

My guess: the most likely outcome is that Chris manages to keep himself afloat in some capacity pretty much indefinitely, continuing to lead a very stupid, ineffective lifestyle where he's always blowing unreasonable amounts of money on stupid shit, yet still keeping his affairs in order well enough to stave off homelessness. A wildcard disaster could come along and undo that all abruptly, of course, but until that day he just carries on with his autistic business as usual.

Next most likely outcome is rapid collapse of everything, a complete disaster very soon after Barb dies.

The *least* likely outcome is sustained, meaningful improvement, like getting a job, cleaning up the house, making normal friends, etc. No matter how much of a burden Barb might be, I doubt she's preventing him from doing any of those things right now, and I strongly doubt her demise will inspire such dramatic positive changes.

Any way you cut it, though, Chris's only hope for longterm stability and safety is if a proper adult comes along and provides some sort of supervision and guidance. Barb is the certainly the source of most of Chris's problems, she's a moron and a lunatic and a bad influence, but she's still been the token adult in many situations. She's the one who picked up the phone and got things straight with insurance companies after the fire. She's the one who tells Chris to behave himself in court.

Chris, left to his own devices, kicks cop cars and maces retail employees and has temper tantrums in jail cells. He's naive and gullible, making him extremely vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation by bad actors. He's prone to emotional meltdowns in public places. He needs adult supervision.

Chris’ dad, his real life friends, people from here like Captain and Null, and even weens to a degree, have tried to cultivate Chris to varying degrees in futile endeavours to make him more functional and/or self sufficient.

And in the end he inevitably rejects them and learns nothing because he refuses to acknowledge that he lacks certain beneficial faculties that most people don’t.

Chris doesn’t need an adult IMO, he needs and angel investor to buy him indefinite residence in a care home.

Barbs death would benefut him in a couple of days. For one it would ease his load quite a bit as he no longer has to drive and get her shit, he won't have her threatening him clean the hoard(he'd just sell anything not pinned down), and the biggest one would be that she'd no longer take his money. Hell he'd probably let his dogs outside without her. The most optimistic outcome is he unlearns all the bad habits he has that have originated from barb(his touchiness towards women being a notable example). However, as you said has an equally as high chance that this will royally screw him over for a multitude of reasons.
  1. Who would chris turn to? David has had no contact with him since the funeral so he can't go to him, while the Westons hate barb for her seducing her sisters husband and I said this in another post but chris has stated neither he nor barb are liked by the Westons that outlived Aunt Corrina for reasons you could probably imagine. Best option for him would probably be Rocky.
  2. Barb is arguably one of the only people in Chris's life that cares for him. Without her he'd probably become extremely isolated and lonely(more than he already is) which could take a toll on his already poor mental health.
  3. As its been stated many times and documented chris is pretty naive and gullible. Mentally he's basically a child so left to fend for himself, who knows what antics he'll pull off. Without supervision he kicked a cop car, maced a game stop employee, trespasses places he's been banned at, and vandalised store property. As horrible as barb is she shushes chris in court to behave and keep quiet. In fact she even told him that his attraction sign made him look retarded.
  4. The house. If barbs debts aren't paid by then the bank could probably just mortage 14bc or repossess it to pay her debts and he'd lose his home.
