Nothing will change.
He exists in a small bubble frozen in time, why would it change after Barb's death? If anything I'm sure he'll be better off without his abusive mother.

It's a double edged sword. Yes he'd be free of her bullshit, but when it comes to bills, house payments, etc, he'll be in trouble.

Not only that, because he's never really physically harmed anyone out of his craze yet, it's unlikely that he'll ever get institutionalized to a psychiatric asylum.

If I have to take a wild guess -- he'll probably spent the rest of his days living as a homeless, deluded vagrant on the streets or sidewalk after his mother finally kicked the bucket.

We know that Chris-Chan's tugboat represents most of the household income. That's not going away.

We don't know what Barb actually contributes regarding paying the bills and budgeting.

I don't see Chris-Chan homeless. I can imagine him losing the house, but I really doubt anyone is going to throw him out on the street like Ed Wood.

I feel like Barb was the only thing that was keeping Chris spending his money on household necessities. Without her telling Chris to pay the bills, I don't think he'll be capable of budgeting his tugboat responsibly. He'll spend his check on toys and games as soon as he gets it and then just hope that he'll be able to beg his way into keeping the lights on and rent paid.

He was budgeting each month to make his share of the bills since Bob died. Barb doesn't tell him to do that. Before idea guy, he used to believe in physical reality and he knew he couldn't magic his car into moving or his video games to turn on without paying the bills.

Fucked up parts of it aside, I still maintain it will be one of the funniest fucking things ever if he tries to do just that and flips out over twitter that his car won't cooperate or that his games are trolling him by "going on a power strike" or something

I still think he could still be eased back into begrudgingly respecting reality if the circumstances started to turn the thumb screws on his comfort. Like you say, if the power went out and he had to scamper to pay the bills.

But it'll probably get so bad, so quickly that it'll be too late for him to learn enough lessons to turn his life around. He'll probably end up in a homeless shelter for a couple months until some good samaritan helps him get into section 8 housing.

Since Chris is gay now, what are the odds DStecks will take him in?

After Barb ended her suffering for 80 years, she woke up in 1960's. She remembers every single lottery combination and invested in Coca Cola early on. Bought a mansion, her hoarding habits never change.

Chris has electric hedgehog powers now, correct? He can just shove the plug of a surge protector up his ass and power his PC, TV, PS4, etc. that way. More money for toys!

What will Chris do when Barb dies? I don't know if he's ready to be on his own
It's creepy but I have an ominous feeling that he isn't going to tell anyone. And if he does say something I feel like he'll go around using it as an excuse to beg for money. I do agree, he is not ready to be on his own. He has no idea how the world (or reality in general, for that matter) works at all.
