He is ripe to be exploited IRL by some scam artist, he could easily run into some chick who convinces him to let her move in since she is his lesbian sweetheart. Within a month her kids and muscular ex-con boyfriend are also living there, they'll stick Chris in the basement with his toys and throw down just food to keep him for starving to death.
Chris is so vulnerable to manipulation and gaslighting he will be convinced he is one of those polyamorous relationships, or be convinced he is being a good male feminist by helping out a woman in need. He'd defend them if someone got the cops involved too, cops and authorities just seem to want to wash their hands of Chris.

On the internet all that is really at risk is money, IRL he could end up being abused or killed.

I agree with your first point, that he has revealed he has can't take care of himself. But that seems to belie the rest of your argument.

Also, even if Chris "straightened up", he is in the disability trap. His tugboat provides him with a source of income that is more reliable and not much less than he would receive if he tried to enter the job market. And working a decent number of hours for an extended period of time would put the tugboat at risk. If we assume that he will never make much more than minimum wage and that he will always be at risk of losing his job and having difficulty getting another, it is easy to argue he is better off on the tugboat.

And this is the rational risk evaluation that Bob took into account when putting him on the tugboat in the first place. He put some actual effort into getting Chris to try to act like an adult and get a job, but after the Wendy's disaster where he frightened children with his autistic behavior, he realized it was just not going to happen.

Chris "needed" to do a lot of things a long time ago. It's not happening. I think at this point everyone's just waiting for Borb to finally kick the bucket so that we can see whether Chris's gonna begin the "Homeless" saga or the "Group Home" saga.

Nah, this is really being somewhat dramatic imo, I think the most likely outcome is that he'll simply move into some cheap studio apt. on the outskirts of Ruckersville. He'll still be better off compared to 14 Branchland, and its unlikely that he'll manage to keep the house anyway. The tugboat will keep him afloat enough and with some strict budgeting he'll even have money leftover to buy Legos. At the end of the day Chris will live a solid lower-class lifestyle somewhere in rural Virginia, until he finally fades into obscurity or the rest of us simply lose interest in him.

he won't be the chris we know anymore:( you see barb enables his behavior once she dies he will either 1. be forced to grow up. 2. live with a relative who won't put up with his shit. or 3. be on the street. i mean maybe he could use his tugboat for a little while but barb and bob are the ones who made him the way he is.

Barb does the exact opposite. She steals his money and used to even threaten to kill herself whenever he wanted to do something like go to a con. It's only recently he learned he can more or less tell her to fuck off and do what he wants.

If he goes radio silent when she dies it will be because he's totally wrecked and on top of that suddenly broke for real. Worst case he'll totally lose it and become completely unhinged.

my bad i need to learn more about barb stealing his tugboat. does he have relatives if barb dies? does he have a job or whatnot been to lazy to read the wiki lol. maybe my theorey is crazy but could barb dying force him to grow up idk.

No relatives who give a shit about him. All his extended family hate Barb and have had nothing to do with him, and his half-brother Cole ran away just to get away from her and Bob, and doesn't give a shit about Chris, either. I'd be surprised if any extended family even shows up for Barb's funeral. Bob's side of the family would only show up to piss on her grave.

He'd be fucked in the short run. I think he'd be better off in the long run if he got over the bumpy period at first, though. With his luck that bitch will live into her 90s just out of spite.
 
chris does not sound like somebody who would change unless forced to due to a traumatic event such as barb dying. even if the lady lived till 120 chris would probably not change until she croaks.

This I agree with. I can see Chris being shuffled around the autistic SJW circle set up by Marvin until they grow tired of a fat, sweaty man baby making doe eyes at them. Chris' doe eyes are probably horrifying, BTW.

I don't think that's likely to happen, I would go so far to say as Chris is technically a only Child now for the simple reason that Bob's kids want nothing to do with him at all and never really have and Cole is off doing his own thing but while he has had contact with Chris in the past it's just that in the past Chris is an extension of Barb to Cole (and I think that's a fair estimate) and would rather not have any contact all together.
 
How exactly do you think the relatives are going to find out? Unless Rocky or somebody helps him out with the obituary and notifications, the only people who are going to know are da trolls. And that’s assuming he calls Null or The Captain.

On the brighter side, without a parental figure to tell Chris no and to dress appropriately, I look forward to Chris showing up to Barb’s funeral in his best mishmash of sonic, Pokémon and pony gear.

Assuming there will even be a funeral.
