Elderly parents with dementia are a terrible burden. So are autistic children who are completely dependent far into adulthood. The whole world has burdens. We deal with it.
Except Barb doesn't have dementia (though is a terrible burden) and Chris is slowly figuring out how to be independent. Stop reading into shit that isn't there and defending Barb.

What do you think it is if it isn't dementia? Alzheimers? Chris said he had to take classes to learn how to care for her. He might actually be picking up a check from the state as her caregiver.

I think it's pretty obvious that Barb isn't all there upstairs any more. Have you ever known an old person with dementia? It isn't just slack jawed staring into space. It starts with irrational aggressive behavior, anger and frustration and progresses into loss of memory and laconic behavior. That seems to fit the pattern for Barb since the Game Place incident. If you think Barb is fine, that tells me how valid your prognosis for Chris is.

It's neither; Barb's a swindling, manipulative asshole. And if he was getting a check for barb committing fraud (which is the only scenario in which he gets paid to be her caregiver) we'd have caught wind of it by now.

That seems to fit the pattern for Barb since she vowed never to cook for Chris and Bob ever again after they declined her spaghetti back in 2000.
fixed that for you

Chris is fat, dumb, gay, and autistic. That's pretty much the only prognosis for him that there is.

EDIT: We were also getting reports of Barb acting like she's smarter than everyone else back in 2014, so where the fuck are you getting this "she ran down snyder because she's senile" defense?

I think it's pretty obvious that Barb isn't all there upstairs any more.

No. She does have that "death stare" as I like to call it, but she is totally and 100% there mentally. It's all for show on the videos.

@The Captain care to help settle this? You seem pretty sure that she doesn't have dementia and you're one of the only people on this board who has interacted with her at length.

So she has a special magical kind of dementia that only shows up when she's in a money begging video and acts completely normal the rest of the time.

Right.

Dude, there was a recent video that had her in the driver's seat, so she is most definitely fit to drive.

I think she probably is beginning to forget a bit more as is common to people her age, but is otherwise as sharp as she used to be, the classes Chris took are probably to do with how to manage medications and administer them, and how to properly help her do daily tasks, mainly because she is probably weak and fragile from a physical point of view.

I'm not sure why this is a surprise to anybody? There was that one video where Barb was in the kitchen before she put on the act, and she sounded like she always has before the house fire, until she was on video. I don't expect anyone to fetch this particular video for us, because the whole begging scene is bullshit, but IT IS there. From about a year ago. Christorians of the classic years would post this evidence straight away, but no-one cares now. Whatever The Captain has been saying, is NO surprise, and it shouldn't be to anyone else

Nobody is paying Chris to take care of Barb, it doesn't work like that.

Also, your description of dementia is painfully over simplistic. There are dozens of flavors of dementia, and even two people with the same form of dementia may have completely different symptoms at different times. Maybe you get diagnosed and become combative and need psychiatric care in a year. Maybe that doesn't happen for 10 years. Maybe in five years you start getting lost outside or leaving the stove on; you're still a pleasant person but may just need something safer like memory care. Maybe you can't remember breakfast, or your kids, or that your brother or sister passed away 15 years ago, but you still know you should ask for help and are just happy speaking nonsense to strangers and only need assisted living or just home care.

Saying "this how dementia works" in such an all-encompassing statement is exceptional.

Maybe Barb is just old and forgetful and doesn't have any diagnosis.

She's fully there mentally.. She can drive, hold a conversation, etc. But yeah I can't explain that damn stare lol

When was the last time you saw Barb and spoke with her?

I can.

This is from way back in the day and I fully expect this post to disappear at the hands of some """Inner Circle""" posters who maintain accounts here to control the narrative around Christine.

Back in 2011, the levels of gatekeeping around Chris were entirely Byzantine in nature with people having varying levels of access and a group of about 4-5 people who minded all communication that Chris engaged in. Emails. Cell phone calls. Texts. If they wanted it, they got it. Even Chris' bills, credit, what-have-you, they were controlled by an Inner Circle of people. Ironic that the Wise Guys catch heat for what they did when Clyde Chink literally wanted to open up lines of credit in Chris' info, but enough about a whiny ethical gamer autistic literal cuck whose main claim to fame in life is terrorizing and manipulating literally the easiest person to terrorize and manipulate ever born.

It was probably March when it happened. A group of us were sitting on Yahoo! messenger, keeping an eye on /cwc/ and talking about a recent pic of Chris and Bob that was dropped where they were heating up Hungry Man dinners. "What were they doing there?" "Why would they eat this late?" "Does their stove work?" What about the hoard?" So many questions.

Then about 1:30AM a new Chris thread was dropped. It was different though because there was no explanation. It just said "JEFF SAGA INCOMING". Just images and images flooding the thread like it was automated. The images were just Chris, Bob and Barb at first, but then they got weird. Like at first it was them sitting at a table, then there were a few with bottles of Bacardi at the table, then one of Barb smirking and showing thigh while Bob looked on in disgust. He looked so tired, but also angry. The last show with him in it was barb licking a cherry (?) pie off her finger with whipped cream while Bob stood, infuriated. After Bob left, the pictures began to show some unshaven guy with a joe dirt facial hair and one of those flippy do justin bieber haircuts that was popular at the time.

At first the pictures were from the point of view of someone watching Chris and Barb at the table, but then they got weirder. They were standing in some. Others they looked like they were dancing with Chris' hands on his hips. After about 10 of these, there was a pic of the weird dude, and he was holding one of those little league baseball bats. The last few pictures showed Chris, he looked distressed and he was looking downward. A few had barb laying slouched in her chir looking at the ceiling, splayed out but you only saw her in her moo-moo from the waste up. The last picture you could only see her shoulders-up and her shoulders were bare. That look you see in her eyes every pic you see of her now? That was when it started.

These photos disappeared before any of us realized it was a good idea to archive them. I mean a matter of a minute or two.

Throughout the night there were other attempts to drop them, each labeled either "MANWICH SERIES" or "JEFF SAGA". We went to irc to ask about this. Went to Dagon because seanieb wasnt around and he just stonewalled. Said they didn't exist and that if we keep trying to start lies that he would IP ban us and post our IPs (that was a big threat by him, dunno why). So we asked around, some people saw them, but no one saved them.

Long story short, ALWAYS ARCHIVE THE GOOD SHIT.

Why does Chris allow her to act completely different in the videos? And what were the elder care classes he said he had to go to? Hadn't her car been standing undriven for a period of time? I thought that was why Chris had to get the oil change before Bronycon.
IT WAS A PLOY TO GET PEOPLE TO FUCKING DONATE BY USING THE FRAIL OLD LADY ACT
WE FIGURED THIS OUT WHEN THE VIDEOS FIRST CAME OUT

barb is dead and we had sex with her corpse while chris watched
the scariest part of all that was how insane bob looked while they were having the picnic out front (at least until kyle showed up and taught chris his tricks in public, ruining a nice day out)

YS, are you saying Barb is drunk all day long? That might explain it. Has Chris talked about it? He would probably not tell the truth about Barb regardless.

I think some people really just don't like Chris for whatever reasons and want him to fail or do poorly so they can feel good about or it say "told you so". I don't feel anything for Chris one way the other. Like an autistic Truman Show, I just want to watch.
I don't get the hate he gets. Chris has his character flaws but that's what makes him fascinating for him to watch. I actually hope he does better in life because to want to see someone like him fail really speaks volumes of the person wishing it.

A parent doesn't owe their kid anything after they become an adult. Barb didn't owe Chris insurance or the house. A lot of people today are forced to pay for their retirement with reverse mortgages. I'm sure Barb handled the money poorly when Bob died. But I think she may have been experiencing the early stages of dementia at that point too, and that may have played a part. I definitely think that was responsible for her part in the Snyder incident.

The only question I have is does Chris have the necessary life skills and intellectual resources to navigate through the major life change that he'll be facing soon? I don't see much evidence in his past indicating that he is capable of handling all of the responsibilities that go with complete emancipation. And I don't see that the Chandlers have built any alliances with family members or close friends that will help him through it. I know his internet friends won't be of any help to him. Some of us send him money once in a while, but on the whole, we exploit and manipulate Chris. He isn't in charge and it's quite a stretch to try to argue that the internet has been good to Chris.

Some people here seem to think he'll do better after Barb is gone. I hope that's the case. I'm not trying to say I told you so by bringing this stuff up. I'm an audience member of the Truman Show too. I just think that we've seen the final act, and if we don't bring down the curtain and let Chris go have a normal rest of his life, it won't be a fun show to watch any more.
The problem is that they didn't teach him any life skills needed to be an adult. Hell I had a guy I went to school with from elementary through high school who had SEVERE autism and he has a job working at Home Depot cleaning the place and lives in an assisted living home. Chris wasn't given the help he needed when he was younger and now he's a giant manchild we watch for lulz. The kid with severe autism that I know would be boring to watch because aside from the occasional tard out he does, he's a more functioning adult than Chris. Actually he'd be pleasant to be around since he knows he needs to bathe and how to act relatively normal given his condition.

Elderly parents with dementia are a terrible burden. So are autistic children who are completely dependent far into adulthood. The whole world has burdens. We deal with it.
Yes, but Chris' autism isn't even that severe. If given the proper coaching and training at a young age he would have been fine. We all have shit we have to deal with in life. Some of us are dealt shittier hands but that's life.

What do you think it is if it isn't dementia? Alzheimers? Chris said he had to take classes to learn how to care for her. He might actually be picking up a check from the state as her caregiver.

Barb was never fully all upstairs at any point of her life. That said my paternal grandfather was like her. A swindler and a crook and a liar. He never did honest work if he could help it. He was more or less mentally there until the day he died. I know Barb's type. It's a ruse to get people to give pity dollars because she lacks impulse control to not just toss money around on worthless shit.

Once she's gone it'll be like this for Chris:

YS, are you saying Barb is drunk all day long? That might explain it. Has Chris talked about it? He would probably not tell the truth about Barb regardless.
yes. i think that chris gets her liquored up to tolerate him. I dont think its on purpose though. I think its something theyve mutually conditioned each other to pursue.

That’s a bit of a touchy subject, so be careful who you bring that up around.

Oh I'm sure she is an alcoholic. Wasn't her grandfather or dad a moonshiner drunk who never provided for the family? That shit is definitely genetic. I wouldn't put it past her to self-medicate with alcohol. Given how the house is a hoarder fest, it's not a stretch to think she drinks. A lot of hoarders will medicate with drugs and alcohol. Oddly enough, they also have a high sex drive.

So if all the Classified, Top Secret, kept in the dark super fucked up shit about Chris is surfaced, then will the cwciki have more than 3000 pages?

Barb and Bob owed Chris a decent attempt to make him into a functioning individual. If that didnt work then hey dems the breaks. But they never even attempted that. So yes they do owe him. Barb especially since she put in even less effort then Bob.
