Containment What will happen when Barb dies?

I think the death of Barb will cause quite an interesting change in Chris. Chris was pretty rattled after Bob died, as I would expect anyone who loses a parent to be, and he seemed hung up on it for a lomg time afterwards. Since then, he became much closer to Barb since she is his last close relative. I expect Chris to go through the same basic steps as any normal person, shock and depression, but then I predict a rapid downward spiral. We riff on his cognitive function, but I have no doubt that he's at least aware that Barb is a stabilizing factor in his life. He doesn't go out and do whatever he likes because he knows he has to come home and take care of her. Without that stabilizing influence, I think he's going to steadily do dumber and dumber things until he does something critically stupid and lands himself in serious hot water with no life line.

Here's my :optimistic: hypothesis

Chris will either blame others (or atleast l8er down the line) or try and get pity. (the latter is more likely)...

He is paranoid. I wouldn't be surprised with a little coaching getting him to think his mom's death was the result of the Trump administration purposefully doing something to her. He did kind of blame some medical personnel for killing his dad because of a stupid loud noise, right?

Yes. He did say something about a loud noise at the hospital contributing to Bob's death (likely this was something Barb had told him) It totally had nothing to do with Bob's congestive heart failure. Or the stress of living in a hoard infested with black molds, bedbugs, cat shit, and whatever else. Or the crushing realization that everything he had worked for had come to naught as his other children hated him and the only people left in his life were draining him of what little life he had left and pissing away the money he had worked for/saved over his life.

To answer the original question... it's hard to say what would happen, financial-wise. Chris sucks with money, this much we know. But we also know that Barb is a huge reason for Chris to be begging for money. Without Barb to take his money, Chris would likely spend even more of it on toys, but without Barb spending for the Hoard, the situation could go either way.

It will be hard to convince him of anything though. Barb and Bob were pretty much the only two people whose words Chris would take without a doubt. It will be interesting to see how gullible he will be once Barb has passed.

Not necessarily. Bob and Barb both had problems with Chris' Tomgirlism, but he persevered to become the beautiful Lesbian-Souled Transwoman we see before us.

He'll sell her corpse on ebay for a whopping $200,000- who wouldn't want to own the lifeless body of the mother of the great CWC. And then proceed to be jailed for selling human remains.

Yeah, but that paranoia's the result of Barb's abusive grip on Chris

to quote the holy scripture

And he told me of mom saying she was going to pack up and leave the house, then I ran downstairs, finding her on the couch; she was soo miserable and sad; she talked of Wanting to Die, "you don't even have to change my clothes, you can just bury me in what I have on." I was soo sad and crying and soo sorry for the way I misbehaved; we hugged and made up a bit.

In addition, Barb has used the specter of old age for her own gain, by manipulating Chris into thinking she will have a heart attack. This tactic has been used so often that Chris will panic and call 911 if Barb does not answer the phone if he checks up on during the times he goes out of the house

---
Well, I don't think they talk very much. However, no, Chris is Barb's hand servant. She screams for him and he comes running. She has him change the newspaper the dogs shit on, she has him run errands to bring her stuff, and she used to have him haul her goodwill crap to the car, and then from the car into the house.

...

I think Barb's yelling has gotten much less frequent nowadays. It seems like she's pretty feeble nowadays. Chris is just as scared of Barb as he used to be though. I don't think he realizes how much power he has over Barb nowadays.

They're really physically affectionate in a strange way. Chris is pretty touchy feely with women because of habits he learned by spending time with Barb.

---

a few months to a year before the fire, Chris stopped being permitted to sleep separately from Barb, in his bedroom. He had to sleep closer to Barb, because she needed to be able to yell for him to go to sheetz and buy her crap, and he wasn't able to hear her up in his bedroom. He kind of tried to resist at first, but then she got super pissed and threw a tantrum. She wrecked his room and like flipped everything over because he was trying to sleep on his own.

What a rotten old bitch, no one deserves a mother as shitty as that.

all i know is, if barb's death causes chris to move house (with the help of someone else) chris will bitch about it for a month as soon as he gets internet

he'll bitch about not having internet fora while
he'll bitch about not having vidya
he'll bitch about packing his legos, and unpacking them
he'll bitch about moving
he'll bitch about how the new place is smaller (if he does move it will be into a smaller place)
and he'll give a half assed thank you to whoever helped him before bitching "ya could have dun more"

If he survives the initial freakout, it's 50/50 that he'll either fall into a routine or be in and out of jail for years. Chris's life has always been a case of everything being just fine until it's utterly catastrophic. He lives on borrowed time. I think that unless he has lasting and meaningful intervention from the community (not white knights or ironic trolls), he's going to end up behind bars. Maybe it'll be years, maybe months, maybe weeks, or maybe he gets naked and attacks someone at her funeral. He just cannot sustain a lucky streak forever.

It's not really a lucky streak.

It's how people in trailer parks live.

I'm betting that Chis believes that when Barb dies, his life will improve dramatically. He'll be "Lord of the Manor", he'll be free to do whatever he wants whenever he wants, he will only have to rinse out one set of urine soaked sheets (his own), the world will finally be his oyster.

But the reality will be that once the condolences and casseroles delivered from the church die down, he will be alone and over his head. If someone like Rocky steps in early on and downsizes him, he will be lucky. If not, he will crash and burn a bit before he drastically downsizes.

Chris doesn't take well to unfulfilled expectations. There will be a major chimp out before they sell off everything, garnish his tugboat, and shove him into a downtown hotel room that rents by the week. If we hear from him after that, it will be because the public library can't ban him like Game Stop did.

If Chris ever goes bankrupt, loses the house, and so on, he'll be set for life as long as he finds some sort of apartment. His income is untouchable and he does know how to pay bills. He'll even have enough money to keep his internet so he can e-beg to his heart's content.
