I'm willing to bet Cole is working on a screenplay. Maybe it's not near completion, or maybe he doesn't want to talk about it to others. But I'm guessing he has one he's working on bit-by-bit and is just salivating at the thought of how much he will be paid for the lucky studio that purchases it

I have no doubt that not only has Cole wrote and is still writing numerous screenplays, but has tried selling them to studios. Sadly no one wants them.
Maybe he should try writing a screenplay about Chris or feature length Sonichu film, and then maybe someone would care.

The Day of Barb's Death
Chris wakes up at 3 in the afternoon and drives to McDonalds for breakfast without asking his mother if she wants anything. He eats, then drives home and plays vidya until 8 PM and shouts for his mother to bring him a soda. There is no response, so Chris goes up to the kitchen. Barb is laying stone cold dead on the kitchen floor with a broken glass next to her and the fridge wide open. Chris cries and takes a picture of her with his iPhone for later use so he can get donations. He then takes out 14 more credit cards that Capital one will stupidly give "barb" and maxes out each one spending it all on toys and vidya. 2 days later he dials 911 and they arrive unable to revive her. They leave and chris posts on facebook blaming Megan and Mary Lee Walsh and the trolls for his mothers death. Weens send Chris a $1,000 care package and then he shits himself and does nothing.

Probably been discussed already, but what are the possibilities of Chris simply not reporting his mother's death in order to keep the social security checks coming?

Chances are almost none. When the time comes he most likely panic and call 911. His scheming doesn't go to that level. His usual tricks are plain and easily seen through.

To add as well, Chris probably can't even see 12 hours into the future of what his day will be like, so it would only occur to him that he should have stuffed Barb in the couch a month after she dies, when he realizes the tugboat will no longer stretch as far as it used to.

to add onto this, I realize I'm reiterating what others have said. But I honestly believe a group home is the best bet for Chris to survive and keep producing content.
i get a stiffy at the thought of chris slowly breaking from being surrounded by groaning creaking drooling windows to hell 24/7 who'll steal his games and rape him in his sleep

it probably depends on the place. but what other options are there for Chris-chan? he's been like this for well over a decade. people don't suddenly change their mental habits/attitudes overnight. he's so far down the rabbit hole that I seriously doubt he's capable of learning to function independently. at the very least, it would take a long-term intensive program, but even then, our current technology might not be enough.
