There's something ironic about begging for money and items when he's surrounded by hundreds of dollars worth of toys.

It's somewhat ironic how much money he piles into stupid children's toys, because he doesn't take care of them at all well, so it's not like it's a collection that has much of value. He doesn't seem to keep the packaging and all the other junk that makes things like that valuable to a collector.

This especially applies to shit like Lego sets where he idiotically buys expensive sets for maybe one or two pieces he wants and then the rest is basically garbage.

It's sad. He spends enormous amounts of money but yet has nothing but a hoard of garbage. But hey, what does he care? It's all tard bucks anyway.

It's doubly ironic that Chris himself does not see the irony, at all. In his mind it is perfectly acceptable to e-beg for money that will be spent on buying even more stuff when he is already drowning in stuff. It becomes tragically ironic when he has acknowledged that his mother is something of a packrat herself yet fails to realize he is every bit as much of a hoarder as she is.

And yes, it is worth mentioning that Chris is not a collector. I have seen collectors who display their merchandise packed rooms and while it's not something I'd want for myself, they are very tidy, usually with glass display boxes and with the figures and the like in pristine condition, most of which never removed from the original cases. Chris, however, just dumps new stuff he bought on top of the old stuff he already bought, where it all festers and becomes as greasy as he is.
If he took better care of things he could probably sell them for quite a lot of money but no, even if he chooses to sell them now, they would have lost a lot of their value due to his slob-ways.

Group home or not, Chris is going to have a rude awaking after Barb dies. She/he is going to have learn the hard way to be independent financially and emotionally. Catherine asked Chris what she/he is going to do after Barb is gone, and her/his response was: "I don't know." That doesn't sound too good. Does Barb even care about Chris?

Judging from the house being in debt, I don't think she's thought that far. At least, she doesn't appear to think that far ahead.

From what we've seen of her in that recent e-begging video, she may not be mentally capable of doing anything. I am not a mental health professional but the unfocused eyes, the slurred, barely coherent speech and creepy staring makes me wonder if she did not have a stroke that impaired her cognitive faculties. Or maybe dementia is setting in. Whatever it is, I think it is safe to say Barbara's mental abilities have declined drastically.

Just my own 2 cents, but I visited my hospitalized, 98 y/o great aunt, and she seemed to be in better shape than Barb. Then again, nobody loves Barb.

I think she's concerned only with herself and from her viewpoint the world literally ceases to exist after she dies. She just doesn't care about that. That and she's not very smart either, and getting dumber as dementia sets in.

Chris is screwed over by his own mother, she burned and pissed bob's and retirement money and signed another mortage in order to fill the neverending hoard.
I only know that months after Barb's dead we will see a lot of e-begging videos and a call for asspats on facebook.

I grew up in a small town that had a couple "characters" that had fairly severe mental health issues but lived on their own. This leads me to believe that technically Chris could care for himself over the long term. But I think there are a few roadblocks to this outcome.

1.) Housing, if he's not destined to stay where he is now he will need someone to find a place his tugboat can pull. Maybe a social worker or as others have said a church member can do this.

2.) His predilection to law breaking. One or (maybe) two simple missteps are all it would take for things to snowball out control for Chris and if past behavior is any guide it's likely his next crime won't be as simple as trespassing.

3.) Money. He won't be able to manage his money. Hopefully some sort of automated bank transfer can be set up for him by a social worker to pay for housing if need be. Otherwise he will be homeless and likely end up in jail in short order. Luckily for Chris food stamps can't buy toys so as long as someone helps him get his stamps he won't starve.

His entire world hangs on someone setting everything up for him. If that can be done there is hope, others far worse off have gotten by year after year. If that doesn't happen he will be in and out of jail and homeless shelters for the rest of his life.

It's ironic, since the same can be said about Chris.

If that's the case, then that's gonna be rough for everybody close to her. Dementia's not something that's pretty to see since she's gonna need some around the clock care. And once Barb goes, Chris is probably gonna be in a world of hurt with his mental state. That's my general feelings at this point.
