OK, you are the noted authority on this so as a newb I'd really appreciate if you could clarify to me, have I just been completely duped about how much he spends on games and toys and stuff?
Heh, actually that's the thing, he spends shitloads of money on games and toys and stuff and yet
still meets his monthly obligations.
But it's not constant though. He went on a big lego binge in winter/spring in the beginning of 2014 (or 2015? I can't remember). During that time, he spent thousands of dollars on legos. But he can't sustain that all year and he knows it. Basically, if Chris is pissing away a bunch of money all of a sudden, just remember that he can afford it. It might be that he's freed up some debt or maybe he's just easing up on other expenditures (less likely

), but regardless, he's making it work somehow.
I think what is going to fuck him is when he has a expense he hasn't planned for, maybe the car has serious problems, the house has a massive water leak etc, day to day he is fine and will probably better off in planning once Barbs not helping herself as you have indicated in the past, but it's the great big fat expense he hasn't ever planned for that's going to cock him up.
Agreed. We've talked about this before in here. Chris' lack of liquidity could be a problem for him in the future. But to be fair, a lot of the big, surprise expenses people have to deal with are offset by things like car insurance or medicare. Long term I don't see Chris getting sunk by anything, so much as his debts gradually making his life shittier and shittier as the years go by.
Though he'll still bitch about how the second half of the month is a struggle for him and barb. He still feels like he's entitled to splurge the moment he gets a lump sum.
Heh, I don't know, I'm not convinced that's a genuine expression of hardship and not just Chris bitching or passing Barb's bitching onto us. Like when Chris begs for more donations right after getting $1k, I don't see that as evidence that Chris blew the money (yet) or that he is desperately in need of money. I see that as Chris saying "hey, sweet, money! but y'know what's better than $1000? $1001! donate now!" (Substitute in cwcisms as appropriate)
