The battlefield is still warm, following Canada’s war on the unvaccinated. The mandates have let up, and both sides stumble back into something that looks like the old normal — except that there is a fresh and present injury done to the people we tried to break. And no one wants to talk about it.

Only weeks ago, it was the admitted goal of our own leaders to make life unlivable for the unvaccinated. And as a deputized collective, we force-multiplied that pain, taking the fight into our families, friendships, and workplaces. Today, we face the hard truth that none of it was justified — and, in doing that, uncover a precious lesson.

It was a quick slide from righteousness to cruelty, and however much we might blame our leaders for the push, we’re accountable for stepping into the trap despite better judgement.

We knew that waning immunity put vast numbers of the fully vaccinated on par with the shrinking minority of unvaccinated, yet we marked them for special persecution. We said they hadn’t “done the right thing” by turning their bodies over to state care — even though we knew that principled opposition to such a thing is priceless in any circumstance. And we truly let ourselves believe that going into another ineffectual lockdown would be their fault, not the fault of toxic policy.
And so it was by the wilful ignorance of science, civics, and politics that we squeezed the unvaccinated to the degree that we did.

We invented a new rubric for the good citizen and — failing to be one ourselves — took pleasure in scapegoating anyone who didn’t measure up. After months of engineered lockdowns, having someone to blame and to burn simply felt good.

So we cannot hold our heads high, as if believing we had logic, love, or truth on our side while we viciously wished death upon the unvaccinated. The best we can do is sit in the awareness of our rabid inhumanity for having cast so many aside.

Most of us who pilloried the noncompliant did it because it seemed like certain victory, like the unvaccinated would never make it through unbroken. Indeed, the promised new normal looked unbeatable, so we sided with it and made punching bags out of the holdouts.

But betting against them has been a scathing embarrassment for many of us who’ve now learned that the mandates only had the power we gave them. It was not through quiet compliance that we avoided endless domination by pharmaceutical companies and medical checkpoints at every doorway. It was thanks to the people we tried to tear down.

So for those of us not among the hopeless few that pray for the return of mandates, we might find some inner gratitude for the unvaccinated. We took the bait by hating them, but their perseverance bought us the time to see we were wrong.

It seems right now like the mandates will return, but this time there’s hope that more of us will see them for what they are: a rising authoritarianism that has no concern for our wellbeing. If there’s an enemy, it’s the confidence game of state power and the transparent attempt to tear us apart. Heeding that looks like our best shot at redemption.

I do not hate them even the most fervent. They were misled and people took advantage of their fear.
I can't abide in the same mind set. I treat them no differently than the most fervent (extreme) Islamic follower, or Jihadi. Many of them weren't misled, but were forcefully ignorant not because they were forced, but because they purposely wanted to be. Considering how many families they destroyed over their fanaticism, people's lives they destroyed or stopped people from working/etc. Screw them. Hope they live to see the consequences for their malicious actions. The rest who got vaccines by force or peer pressure, I feel bad a for as they were forced into it or misled (such as a close friend of mine who was told by everyone but me it "was merely one jab." and has been having weird reactions ever since.

I am getting so sick of people always seeing everything as purely, good people and bad people. Where at the slightest disagreement or different opinion they automatically label someone bad. Then don't have to think or consider anything that person says or thinks.

It's some weird mind virus. You can't discuss anything on certain topics.

I know people where you low key suggest maybe people weren't crazy lunatics for having doubts or concerns over the vaccine. You're immediately treated as if you're an insane conspiracy theorist. Even though they know I had the shot (not mRNA).
It's the reason why most people are either separated into one group or another or they just never share their opinions anymore. I have witnessed several people just dispassionately agreeing with the exact opposite views depending on the company they are with out of fear. I've also seen psycho freakouts over the slightest disagreement related to sociopolitical issues. It's something I've only seen happen so often in the last 7 years or so, and I think it's just a mass psychosis. I just stopped talking to most people tbh.

You make a fair point perhaps most fervent was not the best phrasing. I am also slow to reach hate.

Oh, that's nice you learned something.

Day of the Rake still won't spare you, Leaf.

On the other hand Stephen Colbert saying how glad he was he got the vaccine even though he still got covid was hilarious.
It takes a special kind of retard to go and get injected with 4 doses of a 'vaccine' and then catches the virus it's supposed to protect him from not once but twice and still proclaims he'd have been worse off without it.

It should be obvious from the really overwrought writing style that this person is not one of them, but if you really can't tell you could always google her and find the headlines from the 'climate change is a myth' articles she deleted.

Thank you Dyn the last thing we need is people symphatizing with leftists and thinking of them as humans.

I don't hate the "vaccinated," just any and every one who ever supported forced mandates, which coincidentally includes a lot of vaxfaggots.

I think businesses/restaurants/bars should openly advertize that they welcome everyone, vaccinated or not, and then the vaxxfaggots can volunteer to avoid those places and customers at those places won't have to deal with the vaxxfaggots. it is win-win.

Our culture, and by that I mean the media, has encouraged some striking behavior patterns since Obama came into office, though it reached it's peak in 2016. Here's a few I've noticed: black & white thinking, distorted & unstable self image, intense & unstable relationships with family & friends, impulsive spending, an unhealthy focus on sex, inappropriate & intense anger, feelings of emptiness, rapid changes of goals & values, engaging in dramatic & erratic behavior, embracing of mental illness instead of treating it. Thing is these are mostly symptoms of cluster b personality disorders, primarily borderline. Is it that the media is being ran by crazy people, is this just coincidence, or is this being done on purpose?

There are plenty of "I always back everything the left does but on just this one thing they might have gone too far" types. Terfs on the gender issue, and disgruntled fags, and now a fair number of Karens who got mad about their kids missing so much school due to lockdowns.
The moment you give the Left an inch they take a mile

I’m not quite as forgiving. Some were misled, and some were rabid foot soldiers. I’m certainly extremely wary of anyone who pushed it and I’ll never trust them again.

They’re just the type of leftist that toes the line and then goes “well what lesson did we (all of you idiots) learn that was secretly obvious to me (as you can see by my blogpost) all along” the second it is safe to do so.

Its just george carlin contrarianism, don’t be drawn in they are not repentant.

I know that people will call me gay or something but imo it's bc post modernists have taken control of major institutions. People who reject ideal standards and hate the idea of normalcy are "in charge" as far as normies are concerned. Even 15 years ago, drag queens would never have been thrust upon children, or even the mainstream for that matter. Now we have faggots dressing up and telling parents they are bigots if they don't let them mentor their children. All of these fringe things are being pushed by the media, and it's not enough for you to tolerate it, they demand that you celebrate it. They demand that you treat mentally ill freaks as if they are heroes for simply existing and being fucked up. Imo all of this shit is a big part of why we are not a cohesive society anymore. There are those who truly believe in this nonsense and then those who are too afraid to be called intolerant, and then people like me who don't give a fuck. I have no hope for society as a whole, but I'm trying to move to a small town where people are more wholesome, I think that's the best you can do nowadays.

The left learned nothing, still believes they were justified, and would still go into lockdown forever while persecuting the unvaccinated if "the science" told them to.

I work in healthcare and it's amazing how many of my colleagues have blind belief in this shit, despite the proof that we see every day. Literally the only WuFlu patients we get anymore are old people with serious preexisting ailments. If a patient tests positive for Influenza and COVID, they are labelled a COVID patient. The only "treatments" we give are nebulizer treatments, steroids, and vitamins, the same you would for any upper respiratory tract infection. Yet I literally heard 5 people at work today say "oh I read today that COVID is back, better make sure we get our 4th boosters." I do not understand how they can't infer from our own workplace that this is bullshit. I just mock those people to their faces while pretending I'm talking about other people as a whole. Funny thing is that there are a handful of people at my job who agree, yet very few actually say shit. Why do I have to pretend something is happening when I can plainly see that it's not? I wouldn't even call these people human beings anymore, just mindless drones.

Oh so now they have second thoughts about it? imagine my shock.

They’ve also learned nothing. Have they learned that the governments, NGOs and corporates lied to them for money and power? Have they learned about regulatory capture? Have they learned that science as a method has been supplanted by scientism? Have they understood the push towards a surveillance grid? Have they understood that the governments, corporates and NGOs will do it again the first chance they can? Have they learned that they were manipulated into being the enforcement arm of that power? Have they learned what this looks like so they won’t do it again?
No, they haven’t. They have learned nothing.
The unvaccinated have learned that their governments will turn on the populace and the populace against each other as needed to fulfill desires for power and money. They have learned that people around them will turn them in like the worst days of the stasi. They’ve learned that a huge proportion of the population are bootlickers who loved every minute of it. So yeah, we learned some stuff.

Every article this author has ever written is just raw seethe about lockdowns and mask mandates, going back to early 2021, and all it takes to see that is to click her name. If you actually believe this is a leftist who changed her mind and feels guilty about bullying the unvaccinated you're fucking retarded.

It's still a good essay.
