Are you a Mad Max kind of guy, cruising around the desert in a battle wagon. Do you prefer a slow but methodical extinction like in XCOM 2. Or maybe your an old school person, and enjoy the thought of God glassing the Earth come Judgement day. Pick your poison.

This one. Has an interesting atmosphere to it. Any harmonious apocalypse does.

I guess living in an abandoned, desolate decaying high rise under a red sky with everything else turned to rubble. A gang of chihuahuas are my only friends. At night, interdimentional creatures appear, but you can't interact with them physically. The world was reduced to this after CERN discovered tachyons and forced them to collide, temporarily opening a gateway to the interdimentional beings dimention. The gateway stayed opened for two years, in which time, the beings stripped our world of natural resources and relocated all of the planets in our solar system for unknown reason.

It made more sense with 1970s dawn of the dead, police didn’t have the firearms we do now. That’s why most zombie movies now a days make the zombies fast. Or set it in Britain like 28 hours later
Return of the Living Dead is probably the scariest version of zombies I've seen in a movie. They're smart and deceptive, damn near unkillable, and the virus has multiple means of infection other than just physical contact with a zombie.

Another apocalypse I think I'd like is waking up and 99% of the population has disappeared. Me and my friends debate the most random topics our two favorites are what we would do in a Groundhog Day situation and waking up to 99% of the population just vanishing. First thing I'd do once what had happened really set in is get all the fresh food I could and preserving it as best I could. Then the canned food. Since I've got time before the power runs out I'd be working on a solar system to at least keep the freezers running. Then I'd grab books on every kind of maintenance and home repair I could find. All that's left after that is forming a community with whatever survivors I come across. and living out my cozy empty world farm life.
