Realistically, I tend to play any weird race in games when given the option. Argonian or Khajiit are obviously the stand outs, though I have played Orc or Dunmer depending on the playthrough/playstyle.

In my opinion, all RPGs would be better if weirder races in their lore were able to be used. Like why did it take until CURRENT YEAR for ghouls to be playable in fallout?

I play Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt mods, so I end up experimenting with a lot of different races, but usually I default back to being either a Breton or a Reachman, I think the cultures are interesting and they both make for good magic-oriented characters with no real drawbacks. I like playing as one of the Riverfolk for similar reasons, who like the Reachmen are technically a subrace of the Bretons even though their abilities and skill bonuses are different.

I like the Khajiits because roleplaying as a drug addict and stealing things is really fun. Sometimes I don't even bother to steal stuff. I just break into stores/houses and throw all their items from the shelves onto the floor and laugh as they try to call the guards. I really wish they would let you play as the ones that look more like a cat than a human though. The amount of havoc you could cause at that size would be way more than the humanoid Khajiits.

I rated your thread autistic because the shit you typed in brackets after each race makes absolutely no logical sense. Regardless, these are the classes I usually play..

Oblivion: Breton
Skyrim: Imperial, Breton or Nord
ESO: Breton

I never play beast classes or elves.

Always picking race depending of the homeland.
So:
  • Arena: Altmer (they are inmune to paralysis so they broken as fuck at start).
  • Daggerfall: Breton (i don't pick niggers).
  • Morrowind: Dunmer.
  • Oblivion: Imperial.
  • Skyrim: Nord.
Yep.

Like why did it take until CURRENT YEAR for ghouls to be playable in fallout?
Because it would require the devs to have dramatically different NPC reactions if you played as a maligned race, which would have entire quests hardlocked. In Current Year however, all fantasy races are equal so that intrinsic lore handicap can just be ignored.

Anyway, on topic, I'll play the native race to the game if im going for a Lore Accurate run, but I'll default to Breton when just fucking around because the inherent mana bonus and magic resistance is handy for jack of all trades runs.

I typically play whatever makes most sense for the lore in the particular game. Arena it doesn't really matter; Daggerfall it mostly doesn't matter but I gravitate towards Breton due to the setting; Morrowind I play Dunmer since the Nerevarine should be a Dark Elf; Oblivion I play an Imperial but Cyrodiil's cosmopolitan nature means it mostly doesn't matter; and Skyrim I only play Nord.

If Elder Scrolls VI is set in Hammerfell, I will not be playing as a Redguard. I might try a Breton again, since High Rock is right there. I hope we get a mainline game set on Summerset Isle someday, the Altmer seem cool.

Orc is underrated as hell, they are excellent. I like to play them as a battlemage, sling spells left and right until you run out of magicka then run in and smash some skulls with berserker rage.
