To be honest I've never even checked what are conventions like twitch-cons, anime-cons, furry-cons, etc about.
I just assumed that they are full of cringe retards, but maybe I'm wrong, and they can be quite fun?

We all know it's for nerds to try and fail covering up they never go outside just for the tiniest crumb of female nerd attention.

We generally check out a few new board games or TTRPGs by small developers, buy tea, get some new dice (you can never have too many dice), and people watch. There's a ton of events to participate in, so we aren't just walking the show floor for four days. I do one crafty project a year, and we'll try to test play a game in development, and we usually get in on a True Dungeon campaign. ETA- There are a lot of families with kids and couples there; it's not really a sausage fest like you'd assume.

I went to ComicCon once and in my experience you just kinda walk around buying/looking at overpriced junk. Maybe it would be more fun if you knew anybody there but idunno, I guess its no really my thing. I got an autograph from the former voice actor of Super Mario, so I guess that was pretty cool i guess.
