I used to just make music because I didn't have time for much else. Now i got a bunch of different hobbies distracting me. Having lots of time on your hands can actually be counterproductive sometimes I really need to focus better
I find something new to enjoy whenever I feel bored. A new book, TV show, game, skill, hobby - anything that requires some amount of attention. If you ever find yourself in an endless loop of scrolling through reddit/imageboards/social media then you've fucked up and need something to keep those neurons firing.
Crochet. Currently on maternity leave so I needed something to spend down time doing. Making a blanket for the baby right now, so the hobby doubles as a time filler that's also useful.
Usually listen to music or YouTube videos; mostly as white noise. While doing so, I write or read a little. It's unfortunately too hot to really walk anywhere, right now.
Writing or doing writing related planning (writing concepts, sketching, general preplanning and such.), going for a walk/hike if the weather is good, taking care of my plants. At least those things are what I currently end up doing most of the time if I have enough to spare.
