What was the Weird Thing you saw? I will tell two stories. One time I was standing outside my apartment on a quiet august evening and all of a sudden this man comes tearing down the street right next to me driving a red sports car. He slammed the breaks and cut the wheel to make the car spin 180 degrees and point the other direction. The windows were open and as soon as the driver came to a stop facing the wrong direction he turned to his passenger and punched him/her in the face like 10 times in rapid succession. It was so loud that I could hear the cracking of bone against bone. It made me sick to my stomach and I screamed, "HEY!", but he drove off very fast. I got in my car but I couldn't find them. Another time I saw a man and a dog. The man was walking the dog, and then the man got down on all fours and the dog stood up and they traded places and kept walking.

When I lived in St John in the 90s, I saw an old hospital with a stories tall graffiti rendering of Spiderman, Venom and Carnage along the top 4 or 5 floors on a side visible from the overpass. It was great. Wish I'd gotten photos.

I was going to get a quick drink at the bar, and ended up under the bridge with a barefoot old lady drinking shine and eventually sharing the night with a whole family coming back to my place to wear out the frost. Best three weeks of my life. The lesson I learned: don't drink to excess, but never turn down an opportunity to extend hospitality.
