what did you get detention for?

I once skipped on detection because I threatened a teacher with calling the police for unlawful confinement and kidnapping if they kept me against my will past school hours. In hindsight, I think they just didn't want to deal with the headache and let me go.

Everything under the sun.

Sometimes, I would get extended ones, like 40 hours spread over 2 months or cleaning the school during holidays.

But most of the times, I would just collect hour after hour. It was mostly for stupid shit, like talking in class, refusing to do stuff, smoking inside the school, talking back, leaving the school without authorization, entering the school without authorization outside of opening hours etc...

Most of the staff actually kind of liked me (keyword here being most if I am being honest) , but it got to a point where some were loosing patience a little bit.

But I just did not give a fuck about detention. That never really factored in my decision making. It all seemed so petty, it really did not matter to me, just a bad moment to go through. And even then, it was never really bad, boring at worst.

And I can't help but to think that I was kinda right. I was still a good student, none of this ever affected my life in a negative way if we don't count the few hours I spent at school instead of being home.

With retrospect, I can however recognize how my attitude might have disturbed others, especially in class. I was not the class clown, but you definitely did not want to sit around me if you wanted to follow the lesson.

Figured I would necro this thread to share one really "funny" one.

I got held one day in detention over the holiday for some BS I did on the last day of the year.

There was like 8 of us, and we were cleaning classes. Everybody their role, floor, chewing-gums, graffiti etc... Only supposed to be 8 hours lunch break included.

1 hour in, I am handling the broom. For some reason I start spinning it around me very fast like a retard. Some girl who was getting chewing-gums from under a table pokes her head up and catches the broom in the middle of the forehead. Fast forward 1 min and there is blood everywhere, she gets taken to the hospital. How to turn a day into two weeks detention.
