what CD player should i get

Why would you want a CD player? Why would you want to listen to CD's? Just listen to the music on your phone.

I have an external optical drive. I use it watch Blu-Rays and DVD's on my PC. I was lucky though because it's one of the models that can be used to rip PS3 games so I could use my actual PS3 games to make the disc images to use with RPCS3.

1 i rarely use my phone it sucks you mean computer 2 i want to play garth brooks he only officially puts his stuff on amazon music it sucks and i have his CDs

I was going to suggest just going to a thrift store since that's where I buy both CDs and the players to play them upon but, if you mainly want to rip CDs, wouldn't it just be easier to get a cheap external optical drive?

You can get cheap external DVD drives for like $20 off of Amazon these days, probably not the best quality but, for ripping CDs, I'm sure they'd do the job.

I use this one (or at least an identical one from another brand) as well on the rare occasion I want to listen to CDs. It works well enough. Just make sure you have somewhere to sit it. The cable is really short and if you let the player dangle it’ll start fucking up.

So this is what you do just go get a CD player off Amazon or something. Maybe look around in the few electronics stores that are left. I don't even know if they would sell CD players anymore. You can probably find some cheap shitty ones made in China on Amazon. I know, they were made in China before, but these are going to be really bad. The audio quality will probably be mediocre, and they will probably skip a lot. An alternative would be to go to thrift stores and look for older better-quality players. You can also go to ebay and look for some that aren't in terrible condition. But you will probably pay more for them on ebay because hipster faggots. I don't know if CD's and CD players are seeing their prices go up because of hipster faggots buying and collecting them like they do vinyl. I don't think CD's have made a come back like vinyl has. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick some up while they are still cheap. The hipster faggots could drive prices up any day. All it takes is for a few YouTube videos and social media posts to turn people into fucking retards.

You could also get a USB external optical drive. It's what I use. It's a Blu-ray drive that plays Blu-rays DVD's and CD's. It will also rip any optical disc that's been released. I think I paid $50 for it at Best Buy in 2019. When I built my first PC in 2016 I had a DVD drive in it. I only did that because any computer I have ever owned has had an optical drive of some sort in it. It felt weird not having one. Plus, I still had some games on discs I wanted to use. But I removed it a few years back and got an external one.

This is what I usually use these days if I want to listen to CDs without wearing headphones: a Sony CFDSO5 AM/FM portable stereo with CD player and cassette recorder from 2009 (you can get it much cheaper used). It's not high-end component hi-fi but it fills a room with good-enough sound to my ears.

Companies like Yamaha and Denon still make high end component CD players for hi-fi enthusiasts. It's obviously much more of a niche market compared to a quarter century ago but the hobbyists who still like to build their own hi-fi component stereo surround sound systems also tend to have a lot of money to throw into such endeavours so I think hi-fi CD players will still be around for a long time to come even if Compact Discs aren't as hipster as vinyl is.

According to some guy on the Internet I heard years ago this one has the airiest soundstage and the clarity and punch of the sub bass is so tight and creamy or something
