What are your views on eugenics?

What about like, optional eugenics, where if the doctors can ascertain a high risk of say, autism or other life destroying illnesses, you don't have to not have children but in knowingly taking the risk you waive all rights to welfare or something. It's not perfect just some dumb shit.

It works.
My opinion is science-based and not controversial whatsoever inside highbrow intellectual and medical circles, even liberals like Richard Dawkins fully agree.
The question is never "does it function?", but "now that we have this functionality, how should we use it, and what regulations should we place on it, so it benefits humanity"
