Rome 2 Total War. I'm not a huge fan of civ games but this is alright. I like the battlefields, it's pretty cool stuff albeit a bit prone to sensory overload. My main problem is there's only one way to play the game: build big army, move to cities, take over city. Every empire and group appears to operate within the same general set of rules and after you take over a few areas it begins to feel homogonized. I'm sure playing on a higher difficulty where small ineffecencies can cause you to lose makes it more challenging, but the problem is I don't like playing as an aggressor in games. In Civ 5 I'd build up my cities and strike up peace deals all over the place. In Black and White I'd make my place so awesome that people would abandon their gods to worship me.

In Rome it's like.. oh, I'm stablized. Time to take over another region... And since almost nobody builds up their army to be 20/20 units big in normal difficulty, it's super easy to just storm in anywhere after a recovery and be like, "hey this is mine now thank you". After seeing spies and stuff I got excited thinking maybe you could go into multiplayer and set up an agreement with someone. You'd build defensive tech and they'd build seige tech, you could defend your bases and use spies to sabatoge other people's stuff, and play like an annoying bastard. But you can't. Peace deals in this game are basically waiting to see who breaks the contract first. That's probably why nobody will ever accept a peace deal unless you're making payments for it.

I guess if you like to play Chess, Rome 2 would be a great game for you, but if you like doing city builder shit like I do go for Tropico 4 instead.

Edit: Also, the loading time between turns is fucking painful. It takes like 2 minutes just to process the 100 different groups.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5

Gotta say the game is still as fun as I remembered it. And I'm a bit surprised to see that the colors of some of the bosses have been changed. Guessing it was a thing in Final Mix.

Jet Set Radio Jet Set RADIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Still playing Skyrim as Chell.

I'm starting to realize just how insanely extensive the quest lines are. I dodged away from the quests I usually run into (Innocence Lost, etc.) and found myself travelling right across Skyrim doing everything from fetch quests to infiltration. I'm barely halfway through the game and THERE'S STILL SO MUCH TO DO. OMFG.

Still playing Terraria. Trying to take down the hardmode bosses, but holy crap are they tough.

I'm still playing Dragon's Dogma, really do need to try and be quicker in finishing side quest if I want to finish the main quest-line. Do want to try the Dark Arisen version though I don't own a copy of that.

I'm really, really in the mood to play Psychonauts again. I started that game a few years ago and then wasn't able to finish due to the game disc getting damaged. But I splurged and spent the $10 to download it as an Xbox Original last night.

One of my friends burned me a copy of the original monkey island games onto a cd. I forgot how fun those games were.

Moving off of my disappointment with Rome 2 someone suggested Europa Universalis 4. It's a pretty incredible game with an immense difficulty. It follows a realistic vision of the world, history, and diplomacy. It's impossible to do things like, take over the entire world, because of how limiting factors like man power, exhaustion, inflation, and how people get really pissed off at you if you start wars without a Casus Bellis. My greatest feat I just accomplished was an instance where I took over most of North America as the Aztec Culture.

This is exceedingly difficult because the Aztecs (and any New World culture) learns tech at a very slow rate. My immediate goal was to learn colonization and then start colonizing America before the Europeans arrived. By the time I got to the east coast. Norway had taken over Florida and I westernized from them, which removes the New World Culture slowdown on tech advancement. I was able to fend off England and Spain, but because everyone formed an alliance against me I couldn't take over all of North America in time.

Here's the map:

Fun game.

Thanks Null, I know have a new game to play. Also, I am playing Inquisitor right now.

Decided to play some Hotline Miami and find the word pieces. Just have to find about 2 more of those.

I just got Tron 2.0 and it's a lot better than I expected.

Since yesterday, I've re-installed Fallout 2 with the latest restoration mod. Despite having fun with said mod, I honestly feel the evil Chosen One encounter was good enough that it shouldn't of been messed with in future releases. Same kinda went for the entrance to the residential area for the Den but I can live with that one. Other than that, I'm having fun replaying one of my favorite CRPG's.

I started a new Fallout 3 game with the intention of being an evil character and already I have maximum good karma. I don't know why I can't bring myself to be evil in RPG's.

I've been working the wife the last few days to let me get GTAV. She finally relented and I played it some tonight.

The introductory level?

Totally worth the price of admission. I can't wait to play some more!

EDIT:

Woke up early this morning so I could play some more GTAV before the kids woke up. I'm not usually a fan of GTA, but this game is fuckmazing. I am so glad I got it. I think it's even better than Saint's Row IV.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5

Beat the final boss and now I'm going to go to the Hundred Acre Wood.
