Shining in the Darkness. A pre-Shining Force game that's technically at the end of the timeline, taking place after Shining Force II. It's good dungeon crawling fun, which is impressive considering Sega gave the devs working on it the bare minimum funding you could give developers back in the 90's. The devs were of two teams; one being Climax Software (Who solo developed Landstalker and helped with the first Shining Force and it's first Game Gear game) and the other being "Sonic! Software Planning", though they're far more known for their later alias, Camelot.

Never really got into it growing up but been playing a shit ton of Pokemon Red lately. So addicting
How are you playing it? Emulator/og gameboy or fire red?
They are now releasing the Japan only Dead Patient one (Last in series I beleive) on the 23rd.
A friend convinced me to grab the first one, which I played over the weekend, it was pretty good so that's excellent news.

Also this morning while I was waiting for blood drive to download I started playing Get Even, a game I have been unable to take seriously due to rlm's botw about the film Geteven. But it's actually pretty good, reminds me of observer (which is bloober's best game imo)

Yes that ones been quite good been using a guide to get everything in it when i play it. I could post here every day wtih the backlog of games i have....

FarCry 5. It's the first FarCry I've ever played, and it is growing on me.

It reminds me of how I first felt about Fallout 3 years ago: a kinda broken open-world sandbox with a minimal main story and a bigger framework of kill bad guys, acquire perk points, blow up stuff, sell loot, and survive bear attacks. It's more about messing around in the world than anything concrete, with one cardinal rule of "Don't murder random innocents you're supposed to be saving." I like that.

I also like how the rural good ol' Nobama people are treated as human rather than Yosemite Sam caricatures. Of course I don't like the Ubisoft "join the club, stay integrated on the Internet, spend real-world money" usual line of shit.

I just tried APB Reloaded for a few hours.

I now know what real bad games look and play like, i can't forget this.

Was just picking at the Nioh 2 Beta. Beat the first one, but I am rusty as hell now. The game play is largely the same, they just added in some new combat stuff to spice it up. This new dark realm nonsense is frustrating, though.

After beating Pokemon decided to try out Final Fantasy and RPG's in general. I always avoided them because I figured they were super strategy based and hard to pick up.

Turns out you just need to grind forever then you can pretty much just blow thru the whole thing. 🤷‍♂️ Regardless still a fun game.

Playing 13th doll the new fan game based in the 7th guest/11th hour series.

Not sure it counts but got to try out Diablo iv and Shadowlands last night, pretty interesting games.

Vagrant Story. Actually put about 20h into it like 6 months ago but got really frustrated with how clunky it feels and having to constantly fuck around with changing weapons and generally sucking around with the menus.

Started back up from the last save, this time been looking at a guide for some load out advice to lessen time wasted digging through menus. Having fun so far, hoping I'll see it through to the end and don't get defeated by the menus again.

Decided to replay South Park: The Fractured But Whole again just for the hell of it. Plus I never got to try out the DLC stuff. Forget how much I enjoyed playing this game.

Revisiting STALKER: Call of Chernobyl.

Something just keeps bringing me back to this series. It's janky, but it just has this really special feeling that isn't really replicated in other games. Not even Fallout, another post apocalyptic series I love.

I remember hearing this song when I first started SoC and slowly falling in love.

Noita is just dominating my mind right now. It's got that fucking crazy rogue-like quality that absorbs my time day after day. That "one more run" mentality that leaves you wild eyed at 1am wondering if you should just call in sick

I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling it's going to go the way of the minecraft. Bunch of great updates dropped with big gaps, until it becomes to big to really do work on, leaving an incomplete feeling while still being an amazing game.
