I beat the GUN campaign a couple days ago. Now, I just beat The Simpsons Game's campaign. Now, I'm just mopping up the collectibles for 100%. That will take some time as the Springfield hub world has 300 collectibles divided up from the four Simpsons family members. Loved its tongue-in-cheek story and meta humor about video game tropes.

Decided to dust off Killer is Dead, since the Steam version can run at 60 fps. Holy shit am I nowhere near as good at action games as I was ten years ago. The game itself holds up great and is probably the last of the weird-but-quality Japanese games that used to crop up from time to time.

Silent Hill f
I like Ryukishi07 but he's always been a libtard and that shows a few times in the hamfisted way he talks about the oppression of women, but overall I like the writing and I really like the setting.
The game is not good. The combat feels like a student trying to make a souls project in Godot for their gamedev class. There's basically no enemy or weapon variety. The puzzles are like something from a four dollar ESL steam game. The Dark Shrine segments can fuck off. Even though I'm liking it and will probably do NG+ for the true ending and maybe aim for all the achievements I wouldn't recommend it.

Resident Evil 6
If this didn't have the RE name it would be remembered as one of the most fun games of the seventh gen. I'm playing it co-op with a friend and we've done the Leon campaign and the Chris campaign. Absolute kino. Only problem is the obnoxious QTEs that were so prevalent in 2012.

It's not a bad game but yeah I don't know why the dialogue was delivered that way. Also I didn't like the combat, I always felt underpowered compared to the robots and other people no matter how much I levelled up. Which is probably the point but I feel like with an RPG you're supposed to eventually get to a point where the enemies are barely worth your notice, otherwise what's the point in levelling up. Could just be because I powered my way through the game to get to the ending.

Never bought the DLC or Forbidden West. Anyone here play them? How were they compared to the original?
I’m giving up on it. I don’t care about the story or the main character. All the sidequests are finding and returning lost items to npcs (Help me, I lost my ring fighting a machine! Help me, I lost the spear my mother made fighting a machine! Help me, I lost my bow fleeing from a machine! Help me, I can’t find my schizophrenic brother!)

Combat is unbalanced indeed and not fun. Exploration is not fun. Nothing in this game is fun. I give up. Now I have nothing to play so I guess I have to find other distractions (:_(

Fair enough. The visuals were stunning at the time but I can't remember much else about it. My wife was a fan, but she's the type who will stick with something even when she loses interest in it (She still watches NCIS despite being annoyed Gibbs left the show).

I promised myself that this would the year I finally got my backlog down below thirty... and instead I'm replaying Super Mario 64. What can I say? Still a ton of fun, even thirty years later.

It's hard to beat nostalgia! I spent most of last year planning on cutting down the amount of times I buy a game and never play it. So I pretty much just stopped getting new games unless they're super cheap. I then play most of the series I own and think of fondly even though I know every beat.

Sinking city. It's an odd game. Remake sucks octopus tentacles with hard crashing your graphics card due to driver fuckery. So I play original, which is just same game but without RTX
I’m convinced detective Charles Reed is autistic. I got so much second hand embarrassment when you got to ask the gorilla man why he looked like that. Fortunately he is a gorilla man supremacist so he didn’t take offence to it, but still, you don’t ask people things like that, it’s rude 😭

Almost done with Darksiders 1. I forgot how much of a ball ache it is to naturally get all of the weapons levelled up but I should be able to knock that off my list tomorrow.
The puzzles are kind of easy but I don't mind, I play for Joe Mad's awesome art and my boy War being cute.

After going through my library I finally reinstalled Warhammer 40k: Vermintide 2. I played it once or twice when I first got it gifted to me, but I'm actually liking it this time around. I haven't been playing online so I'm using the semi-competent AI. I'm sure I'll eventually get tired of it when I hear them all repeated a million times, but I like the little chatter between the group of playable characters. Only thing I'm not a big fan of so far is the store section pushing micro transactions and locking a class for each character behind a DLC even though the version I was given was the premium one.

They actually add new barks periodically so the chatter never gets that stale, ability use ones being the outlier. The new classes being in the mix helped too. Personally, I don't have an issue ignoring the cash shop; it's behind a tab in the esc menu which I only see when changing classes or exiting the game. If you're playing offline, one of the problems you're going to run into sooner or later is the bots reaching a hard cap on their utility. It's worth it to play online. I see low levels in the hub all the time so there are definitely players populating each difficulty.
If for whatever reason you do decide to buy a dlc class, the arbiter is superb.

e: disregard. i am a retard who misread vermintide as darktide.

I'm playing it on my PlayStation 4 so I wasn't sure if the game had a super active multiplayer, but I'll definitely check it out. I've been mainly playing around with the different subclasses for each character and I'm a decent fan of Barden and Kruber.

Ah shit I just realized I misread your post and thought you said Darktide instead of Vermintide. I have no idea how active VT2 is on PS sry (:_(

I am about to start Nioh 3. I thought Nioh 2 was by far the best of the Souls-Likes (Sekiro was great too) and the reviews seem unanimous that this third entry is even better.
