Just finished the campaign for Far Cry 6. Got about 55 hours out of it so I feel I got my money's worth and I still haven't finished everything in it yet (just a few random bases/checkpoints/side missions left to do, on top of the Insurgency mode starting up). So now I have to figure out what to play next. I haven't finished Persona 5 Strikers, so maybe that will be next on the list (stopped playing about 3/4ths of the way through the second dungeon).

45 hours of playtime, in the first few missions of chapter 3, I just figured out that you can press select and get a weird first person view that you can do everything in. I don't know if I like it but playing around with it during gunfights is interesting.

I see what you mean now when you said something like, "I hope the people obsessed with everything in the game being as realistic as possible are happy". While playing in first person mode, on the mission where you get attacked after arresting the moonshiners, I noticed for the first time how intricate reloading is. Reloading the volcanic pistol, in particular, is a sight to see. It reloads like an old timey, pirate gun.

First person mode is weird, and awkward at times, but I'm really glad that option is there. I've been using it during gun battles and it's actually very cool looking. Riding your horse in that mode is pretty odd though. I wouldn't recommend it.

I wanna get in a fist fight in first person view though. I think that would look interesting.

Top of the line game though, so far. I'm glad Rockstar are slave drivers to their employees, otherwise we might not have gotten such a fantastic game.

Currently playing through DQ11 since the Definitive Edition has a neat option to play it as a 2D top down sprite JRPG so that’s been fun.

I also keep going back to Hades. I have entirely too many hours logged on that damn game and the higher heat settings are kicking my ass.
 
Going back and replaying Three Houses - I still haven't actually cleared the Silver Snow route, because by that point I was fed up with the Academy Phase. Least NG+ lets me break the game in fun and exciting ways while I wait for SMT5...
 
This survival game called "Subsistence". I had played it a little bit when it first hit EA but I put in like 20 hours the last couple weeks and it's hooked me pretty good. It's def not a game for most people but something about how hard it is has me hooked. It's a real struggle the first day just to not starve and it's stupidly grindy. It takes like 15 hours in game just to get a basic living quarters set up and then it's like another 15-20 to reach mid game and this is assuming you do everything right and don't have setbacks. The AI is pretty stupid but keeps things interesting with the "hunter" concept.

It's sorta a dumbed down legacy rust, dumbed down just because you're playing against stupid AI and not real people. The systems are a lot more fleshed out than legacy rust however and if you like the "base maintenance" aspect of new Rust you will appreciate this title.
 
Found a 4X game called Oriental Empires. It's really good but it's only really about economics and conquest.

It's time frame is bronze age China to medieval China.
 
Purchased Hitman: Codename 47. The very first Hitman game.

Over the past couple years, I've been playing the original four Hitman games in reverse order (for some reason) and now I want to play the original. I'm well aware of how clunky it is compared to its sequels, but goddamn I LOVE the soundtrack. It's probably my favorite out of Jesper Kyd's music. Kinda wish he stuck to this style in the later games.

I think IO just want to forget about it. Contracts was a remake in all but name. Note also that Pablo (a Scarface parody) does not reappear.

The game is so primitive, I had to overclock it to fix the speed. The skybox has an obvious border, so the clouds look fake as shit. Good idea, sloppy implementation.

For me so far, the controls are a pretty big issue. Not being able to toggle between running and walking is a big problem, elevators are clunky to use, ect.

Still, this game has a certain charm to it that I can't deny. I miss stuff from this era of gaming.

The presentation is a cut above. The music holds up beautifully, as you said.

I can't get enough of that whiskey-voice narraration. They owe all their success to David Bateson (of "A MAN HAS FALLEN INTO THE RIVER" fame).

 
Playing through Final Fantasy X with the pBirdman mod. So far, so good. I've also been messing around with the new Horde Mode for Doom Eternal.
 
With Metroid Dread done, its back to Factorio, and VRChat with friends.

I also started my first ever System Shock run. Currently working on clearing the groves of meatus mcyeetus with the Remastered edition. I got lucky and got the rapier really early on and I am damn near unstoppable. I don't think i'll do System Shock 2 afterwards, I've played that game enough.

I dunno if i'm really excited for Haunted Chocolatier (yet), but Roots of Pacha looks like it'll be a great followup to Stardew.
 
Not trying to shill (honest), but Fallen Earth is back online out of nowhere. It's that Fallout meets Star Wars Galaxies MMO that launched to some interest like 15 years ago, was bought out by a scummy company who killed the game with P2W bullshit, bought out again by a small company who tried to salvage it, but ultimately cut their losses and shut the game down in 2019 with the promise of remaking and relaunching it.

The company literally out of nowhere brought the game back online again this morning as "Fallen Earth Classic" while they work on the remake. The game is the same version as when it was shut down, but it's a fresh server and everyone is starting from scratch.

The game is janky as hell in some regards (that's part of its charm) but it's still a blast if you can look past its flaws. It's 100% free to download and play, so if it looks interesting or you just want to experience some good old fashioned MMORPG bullshit, it's worth a look.

Going through some old classics

Sanitarium - One of my favorite horror games. The plot itself isn't that scary, but the general atmosphere is so thick with "what the fuck is going on" that you're filled with this general sense of unease the whole time.

Never tried it before but gonna pick up Planescape: Torment next
