Been playing Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord recently, after not touching it for a year or so. I'm a bit torn on it. On one hand, I do like the core of the game, and it does feel like a good successor to Warband. But on the other hand, it's hard to see where all that early access time went. The game still has enemies get stuck in unreachable terrain, the economy is hilariously unbalanced (going from working to keep one party fed and paid to having literally millions of gold), and there are a bunch of aspects in terms of garrisons/diplomacy/relationships/kingdom management that just feel like they need to be fleshed out. Maybe I'm being too harsh, or maybe mods are the solution, but I don't know. Just a bit disappointing.
Also went back to Crusader Kings 3, and saw that the Elder Kings 2 mod came out, so I tried that a bit. The default character start seems pretty tough in terms of winning the war for the Imperial Isle and finishing the tasks for the Council, or it just might be that I'm very rusty and suck at the game. Might just try a random count somewhere and see what happens. Trying to figure out what other mods will/won't break when trying to work with it, since it's a complete overhaul, is kind of a pain. If I was more into Elder Scrolls lore, I'd probably be a big fan, but I don't know much about the world at large.
