It's a fair point. It's taking an excruciatingly long time for all sorts of media, companies and the like to realise that all the people screeching at them online about what they need to change to be progressive, woke and acceptable are not, in fact, their customer base. The reputation hit you take once you get in their sights can be a hard pill to swallow as well, especially when, superficially, they sound like they're in the right, defending victims/the oppressed/etc.
Hopefully more places realise that the Heckler's Veto is an ultimately damaging and money-losing thing to be listening to, but it really seems people only learn that lesson after they've been burned by it. And the problem with having someone like ljmontello after you is that she's an autistic zealot who will never stop, and she's willing to review-bomb, tweet and call higher-ups and city councils and generally try and harass you into acquiescence.
So as long as there's a couple of dozen Karens and their orbiters still viciously KickVic - and there are, the Farms just get bored of them faster than they get bored of REEEEEEEEEing online - the people running events basically have to weigh up whether they want to be called a rape apologist, and worse (because the accusations always creep over time) for years upon years, or take a stand. Because they don't yet realise that if they do take a stand, then 95% of their attackers will refocus on a different battle that they think they can win, and the harassment will almost entirely go away because it's coming from bullies who run away when their victim stands up for themselves.
tl;dr: I sympathise quite strongly with the 'buffoons' running the events, but there's hope the quarantine will make it much more important to them to do the thing that makes money - invite Vic - rather than virtue signal and/or fall for the lies of the KV spergs.
