Atatiana Jefferson was a Fort Worth, TX resident who was shot and killed while playing video games in her bedroom at 2:30 AM. After a neighbor called the police to report noticing that her lights were on and her front door was open, police came to investigate, saw her through her bedroom window, and shot her.

What an unfortunate looking "woman."
The vest cam footage is on Youtube. It's brutal. The cop straight out murdered her. Snuck around the outside of her house like a common thief. Didn't announce himself or anything. Then basically shot her with no warning.
Shit like this makes me support taking away people's guns. Starting with the police. What the fuck is going on with cops having less trigger control than ED-209 from RoboCop?

I can understand why he was jumpy, though... Texas homeowners don't always take kindly to having suspicious prowlers in their yard at 2:30 in the morning.
Also, I'm not sure that having one's front door open and lights on in the middle of the night is justifiable cause for cops to go trespassing on the property unannounced as opposed to knocking on the door and announcing their presence. A hostile response from the homeowner would actually be understandable, in my opinion, and then you have a situation where there's a confrontation between hostile parties who both think that they're in the right. Not a good situation to be in, and one in which the homeowner likely loses, although the cops certainly risk casualty as well.

So don't be a suspicious prowler in someone's yard at 2:30 in the morning. This cop approached the house exactly like a criminal would have. Actually, that cop was a criminal.
