Hey remember] when 'adult animation" in addition to the comedy of the simpsons, South Park and king of the hill could also mean drama like Ralph bakshi's spicy city? https://youtube.com/watch?v=YSlrv2bQPhI or Todd mcfarlanes spawn?
There was the Samurai Jack reboot a couple of years back that was supposed to be mostly dramatic.
Its not like serious adult animation is dead....they just let the Japanese have it. There is only really a couple of TV channels that play adult cartoons and they're all mostly comedy channels. Everywhere that wants dramatic "cartoons" just goes with anime. A bunch of it gets produced, weebs already love it giving you a fanbase who'll eat up anything just because its anime, and its much cheaper to license and translate something that is already made than it is to write your own story. Any dramatic Western show has to compete in what is already a pretty saturated market.
Comedy is safer since it doesn't translate nearly as well as drama across cultures (in addition to already having established brands normies love for years). Something like the Samurai Jack reboot has to compete with the dozen anime of the season. Something like Family guy doesn't really have any nondomestic equivalent. Its possible it will become more common if streaming is more popular as it no longer has to compete for time slots, but it won't disappear entirely. You can see some small teams attempting to make their own (Like RWBY) with the obvious problems of having no budget and no backing until they actually make it big.

Yeah I guess. Still why should the Japanese get all the good stuff? Hard to believe spicy city was Ralph bakshi's last major production until last days of Coney island.
That aside, I’ve been doing some thinking lately; after seeing the direction indie cartoons are going in, my faith in the industry has been renewed. Even reboots don’t look that bad.
I tried watching the latest episode of family guy about pawtucket pat and..my God is it awful. It's just another round of sjw whining about "history is bad because colonists were Soo unfair to the natives." Yeah well the natives didn't understand concepts like "private property, real estate, and money." So of course they got screwed over. But hey the people who go wrote this crap want us to get rid of those concepts and embrace Communism so it only makes sense why.
I swear IDK if it's seth or the new people he's hired to write family guy but this show just keeps getting worse. And I. The worse way possible, not only has its teeth and edge been sanded off it's become another cog in the ministry of truth's propaganda machine that most of hollywood and the media has become.
"No you see Edison didn't invent lightbulb because someone else invented part of it before him."
Holy shit you fucks the "Inventor" of the incandescent lightbulb is probably Humphry Davy in 1802 (using platinum as the filament) it's just it didn't make them good enough to make them a marketable product and even then filaments existed before, if anything Edison and Lewis can be regarded as people who revolutionized the Invention into a workable product with the introduction of using carbonized bamboo as the material. If anything this video should be about is that inventing something is rarely down to one person but lots of different people contributing and improving items over time and lives.

If he's trying to get it canceled he's doing it wrong, the writing of the latest seasons don't get a show cancelled, it gets you four more seasons
In other news I know we have a big mouth thread but it's got cobwebs on it by now. Latest season dropped and the first episode is about a troon it only took then four seasons to get to that.

Even if he hasn't written anything he still pretty much ok'ed everything without saying no, nobody's innocent here.
Also the episode of big mouth was about trooning out...they make it look like a clean painless process and conviently cut out all the negatives about it. No regret or emotional instability, no realization that trooning cuts off your fertility and renders you a genetic dead end, gee wonder why netflix the company that was a ok with cuties would make trooning out look easy as changing an outfit.?

Because it's Netflix, secretly run by jeffrey epstein's "long lost twin brother."
Edit: upon further thought I've realized there's something far more sinister going on with big mouth beyond the crude sexual humor. It's brainwashing.
Big mouth may have a tv-ma rating but that's more a legal disclaimer, if the FCC and ftc weren't still somewhat in control of how television is marketed even when it comes to streaming services, then I'm fairly certain this show would market itself to younger audiences, ones roughly as old as its characters are. It's intended audience are adolescents going through puberty. This episode pretty much said to that audience "if you're a boy going through puberty and you're uncomfortable with your body and you're not gay...than clearly you must be trans and need to go on blockers and troon out into a girl. Not "you need guidance to help understand what you're going through," "you're a girl trapped in a boy's body and need drugs and surgery to become what you really are."
What else can you interpret this show as saying based on that?

It’s like Da Vinci and the Wright Brothers: sure Da Vinci/Humphry Davey created the basic idea of human aviation/lightbulbs and definitely deserve credit. But that doesn’t mean Edison and the Wright Brothers were unintelligent hacks who don’t deserve their place in scientific history
I don't know much about Stoked, but yeah, as much as I like them, both 6teen and Total Drama are both products of their respective times; The former for the fact that virtually no one goes to malls anymore, and the latter since Reality TV is not all that popular anymore.
