The jungle movie and the Rocko reboot thing are both good signs for Western Animation, now if only Cartoon Network would stop taking more Steven Universe wannabes...
From what I've heard the Rocko one will only be a one-shot special where Rocko tries to fit in with the gadgets and craziness of the new millennium.

After viewing this experimental cartoon short for the Ducktales reboot, it looks like they will be adding some stuff from the classic comics.

When I think about what made America great, I think back to these animated John Sutherland films of the 1950's, this on in particular is my favorite of the bunch, and it's great we finally got a decent copy courtesy of the Library of Congress!

A lot of great talent on this one!

No wonder all of his works mostly sucked ass - at least IMHO, anyway.
One thing I've noticed about Hartman is that he has a pessimistic view of grown-ups. They're usually either stupid, jerks or evil (especially on Fairly Odd Parents).

Interesting pattern. Thankfully not enough to put him in that situation a certain fan of Danny Phantom pulled.

I saw the Rocko trailer and the Arnold Jungle Movie too, and god damn, it's a beautiful trip back in memory lane. The scene with the Pidgeon Man hit me right in the feels. As for Rocko, I was honestly worried when the movie pre-production was confirmed a year or 2 ago because of today's terrible "lolmemes xD" cal-arts thin-lines ridden animation garbage relying to heavily on "current trends" to be more "temporary and hip" (See: We Bare Bears, I'm honestly surprised people like that piece of garbage), but instead is taking a proper whole cultural approach like the original show with the 90's. I really REALLY hope the movie leads to a new season or 2, I have the 4 seasons and love them. Hey Nick, "The Good, The Bad and The Wallaby" uncensored when?

Anyway, now that I brought up Pidgeon Man, I guess this is necessary:

apparently, we all know cartoon network is rerunning teen titans in the early mornings and a lot of people want a season 6 apparently. I don't mind but I will never see myself watching it.
i wonder if it will pull a samurai jack season 5 and get on adult swim? eh.

Actually, random as fuck question but considering powerpuff girls somewhat relevant. Whatever happened to luaren fuast after sony kicked her out of that medusa movie?

Thinking of the recent events, this student-made effort from 2004 sounds appropriate to share right now!

anybody know some modern cgi cartoons? i haven't checked but they seem t0 be absent for awhile. the only network that seems to have them today, at least from memory, MIGHT be Nickelodeon but i haven't checked. Odd since there's a free 3d modelling softwares exist, such as blender. Is 2d animation that cheap?

Does anyone remember how action cartoons and anime pretty much clogged up the airwaves back in the day and how few of them were really good?

When I hear people complaining about the loss of action cartoons, I think about a lot of the real garbage that I remember and thank God those days are over. If we should have them back, though, let's have a medium between them and lighter shows, like we had in the 90s.

Really, that's the problem. In the late 90s/2000s we had nothing but action. Now we have nothing but comedies (be it serialized or something like TTG). I wouldn't mind more of a mix. I mean the 80s and 90s, for as much as the shows then haven't aged well (or at all), were a more healthy mix of action and comedy-based.

Most of the action was either nothing special or garbage back then. Then again, now we have too much comedy and most of it is just the same. It's a truly vicious cycle and the real cure is to create a proper balance of both - but at the same time, make sure the overall abundance of such shows are good and memorable, as well - something that, as Pan Pizza points out, isn't going to happen on TV anytime soon, but on the internet, once it continues to catch on, thanks to less censorship and restrictions of content shown. However - it's only a matter of time before the internet becomes a victim of that, too - as if it hasn't already.

Now, for me to give a proper contribution. We're you ever pining for Wacky Races to come back? No. Too bad - here, have some (good old) cringe.
