I feel a lot of of these 'creatives' who try to force in their 'personal experiences' and get mad when not allowed should stop and consider that just because they think a character is reletable, doesn't mean that that character would be able to relate to them in return.
If this character were to pop into real life i dont think they would find this person relatable in any way, even if theyre both 'diaspora' (can you even consider a half white american half 4th generation japanse diaspora anymore?) and 'queer', and so this person does not remotely make for good inspiration. If you wanna play the identity card at least be similar in a more direct way like having the same culture/ethnicity.
