I very specifically remember this show because it was the one time my mom actually laughed at one of the cartoons I would watch. It was a joke about “mom jeans” otherwise completely forgettable show.

It's a matter of asking whether John. K was the inspiration for this shit, reeks of Ren & Stimpy. The artstyle looks like it was ripped out of the driving sections from Spongebob Squarepants Creature from The Krusty Krab or even 90's comic strips almost. The ass character looks like that one character from Toilet in Wonderland.

Keep in mind, this show premiered in 2011, same year as Gumball and The Looney Tunes Show.

I feel a lot of of these 'creatives' who try to force in their 'personal experiences' and get mad when not allowed should stop and consider that just because they think a character is reletable, doesn't mean that that character would be able to relate to them in return.
If this character were to pop into real life i dont think they would find this person relatable in any way, even if theyre both 'diaspora' (can you even consider a half white american half 4th generation japanse diaspora anymore?) and 'queer', and so this person does not remotely make for good inspiration. If you wanna play the identity card at least be similar in a more direct way like having the same culture/ethnicity.

When new, innovative cartoons were coming to the scene, I highly doubt this spinoff would have been topped off as something like Regular Show or Adventure time.

I don't know what the fuck is going on with this
wiki seems to indicate this was mostly made in the late seventies but released in the early 80s
at points I'd swear it's the Heavy Metal crew between the rotoscoped airplanes and spaceships and most of Den, then they do The Filmation Run
a few parts even do cheap shadow that might not even be rotoscoped like bakshi
and at the end of the day it's a fairly on-point take of the Flash Gordon comics
it doesn't have Queen or Brian Blessed or Max Von Sydow or but yeah you get what I mean
it's a pretty decent stab at animating Flash from the crap factory of Filmation
some of the roto reminds me of that test footage of John Carter from Bob Clampett
 
Well my dear kiwis, I keep postponing the proper continuation of my series of posts on Latin American animation but it is my pleasure to inform you that I am Frankelda is nominated for the Annies in the category of Best Indie Feature. Not going to pretend I watched the other contenders so I expect a full Frankelda sweep and maybe a generic speech about sticking up to Trump (which is funny because Frankelda has to be the least Mexicanesque Mexican thing ever, considering its whole identity is tied to British folklore) but I'll still wish it all the best. No matter how many faggots attach themselves to this, I still want it to suceed.

I do wonder if, had they decided to make the China episode of World Tour today, would the food challenge include Authentic Chinese food like gutter oil hot pot, plastic rice, melamine baby formula, mooncakes as hard as rocks with sodium dihydroacetate, fruits laded with growth hormones, fake eggs, tranquilized fish, and lymphatic meat?
